Samurai X ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Ahh~ It's the first anime I watched, on AXN. They used to show one episode or two every day at around 4:30 p.m. last time... After that was Groove Adventure Rave, and after that was Legend of the Condor Heroes. :)

I love this anime. It's so dang nice and Kenshin is SO CUTE!! :P

Okay, so here's the story~

Himura Kenshin a.k.a. Hitokiri Battousai (Battousai the Manslayer). He used to be a cold-blooded Imperialist during the Revolution. He was dubbed the strongest swordsman in the world because of his skills in the art of swordsmanship of the Hiten Mitsurugi Style. He mercilessly killed people, not caring about any soul on Earth.

But the times soon changed. Battousai vanished. Rumors were spreading, saying apparently he killed someone he wasn't supposed to. *I forgot how many years passed, so let's just say the years passed :P*

Okay, so the real story starts when an ordinary girl, Kamiya Kaoru, the Assistant Master at her dojo *kendo school* hears about some lameass guy calling himself Battousai whilst killing loads of innocent people. She never saw the guy before, so when she saw Kenshin *apparently wandering*, she accused him of being the Battousai.

He, though, sort of proves himself as not the guy who killed them by showing her his reverse-blade sword, the Sakabatou. It's a sword which has its blade on the other side of the sword, so it couldn't kill a fly. However, it will slice clean through anything else non-living.

So yeah, he proves himself and Kaoru hears about the acting Battousai killing more people so she rushes there. The dude's some humongous ass with a ridiculously long beard and an axe of some sort.

She tries to beat him up but fails. As he was about to deliver the finishing blow, Kenshin comes to the rescue. They retreat for the moment, but she starts yelling at the fake Battousai when he starts claiming, "I am Battousai!! Of the Kamiya Kasshin Style!" because her father was the founger of the style and her students were quitting because people were mocking them about learning the same style as Battousai.

The fake Battousai then comes to seek revenge at the dojo where Kaoru stays. It turns out that the fake Battousai was actually an ex-student who was expelled by Kaoru's father because he wanted to see blood. He swore he would carry out his revenge on Kaoru. His name is Gohei.

So when Gohei came to the dojo, she tries to fend him off, but fails. Before anything else happened, though, Kenshin once again came to the rescue. Kaoru finds out his identity as the real Battousai during that point of time. He beats the crap out of Gohei and after that, decides to stay at her dojo to help her rebuild her father's reputation, as Kaoru didn't care about his past. Apparently, Kenshin uses a reverse-blade sword to save people as a repentance for the people he'd slain during the Revolution.

And the journey starts there. They meet various people on the way, such as Myojin Yahiko *a used-to-be pickpocket*, Sagara Sanosuke *a used-to-be fighter-for-hire* and even a used-to-be opium maker named Megumi. They gain loads of comrades during his stay and lots of eventful things happen.

Ohh, and obviously, something develope between Kenshin and Kaoru, but nothing really happens in the American version. Buy the Japanese version and they both get married :P With a child named Kenji!! :P

Yeah, so this anime is really hilarious. Kenshin is super cute. Sano is super cool. Yahiko is super funny and the two girls *Megumi and Kaoru* make the anime so much nicer to watch :P That's because they both like Kenshin. Though with Megumi, she's just trying to make Kaoru jealous :P

So that's the beginning of the 95-episode anime. You can purchase it, I think, at any video shop. I know I could :P

CIAO!!
