Today's million-dollar question: Would you die for your country?

*          *          *

Ola :)

My mom only woke me up at 7:57a.m today O.O I know, right? It was an accident (but then again, everything's been an accident lately, so...). I thought my mom would wake me up the same time as she did the day before - which was 6:30a.m - so I didn't setting any alarms.

I'll know better than to do that anymore.

Still managed to have breakfast before going to school. It was a tuna-egg sandwich from Sun Moulin. Awesome stuff.

At school, I ditched my bag somewhere - 'cause I didn't like the idea of people staring at me for being late - then sat a few people behind Cleo, whom was reading something.

The National Day celebration took up a huge chunk of our morning. It was because of that that we were made to end school at 2:30p.m otherwise I'd be home at 1:50p.m.

And tuition at 3 o'clock.

Yeah, mom cancelled my class at 3 because she said I wouldn't have time to chill if I came home at 2:30p.m.

Anyways, after all that celebration and Oppa Gangnam Style performances, we went for recess. Apparently the poem "Are You Still Playing Your Flute?" was coming out but you know how I am - I don't bother with leaked questions.

-.-

Right before our first paper, though, somebody else got a tip that our guided writing would be a formal letter to the principal. Good thing I know how to write letters. Haha.

I hated my continuous writing essay, though. That's the section I would normally love, but I didn't like what I came up with.

For one, I had writers' block halfway through the exam. I literally just sat at my table and stared at the blank piece of paper thinking about what the f*ck to write. Plus, my stomach ache kept bugging me. I think it's because of the Sun Moulin sandwich I had.

You see, Sun Moulin sandwiches aren't filled with preservatives, so it's best consumed the day it's bought. At most, it'll hold out one more day if you put it in the fridge. Quite unfortunately, my aunt didn't put it in the fridge, so it might have turned a little bad when I ate it this morning.

But arghh~ It's not like I can do anything about it now anyway.

We only had about 10 minutes before our next paper so everyone was talking about the poem I mentioned. I didn't bother about it because it's not like we'll get leaked questions when SPM comes. Better get with it while it's still trials.

-.-

I never really liked the second paper for English. The multiple-choice answers are always too similar. The information transfer question would sometimes make no sense. I pretty much hate writing summaries on anything because it requires shortening passages. I don't mind the literature part, but that depends on what they're asking for.

That's a lot of complaining, I know.

After the exam, I packed my stuff and headed to the back of my school where my brother was waiting for me. Ate the ham-egg bun my aunt bought from the morning market. Then, we went to PJ to get my grandpa from his house.

Ate lunch at Restoran Jun Yuan. That's the chicken rice shop near my grandpa's place. We'd not been there since forever and I had a sudden craving, so...

Haha.

Drank iced Milo and ate chicken+charsiew rice. After we ate, we went back home. Lounged about, messaging my teachers about my lessons while waiting to have dinner at 7 o'clock.

Our original dinner plan was to be at Pappa Rich - where which I would pay - but my dad was convinced that I wouldn't make it back in time for my lesson at 8:15p.m.

Which, just so you know, we totally could've pulled off.

But we ended up eating at Jun Kee's anyway.

I'm still fuming.

Oh well, at least I got my fried beancurd and iced water. The chicken dish was way out of our expectations but I'm not complaining.

Came back home and played with Poodie while waiting for my Add Maths teacher, whom, by the way, decided to go MIA at 8 o'clock. She said she was tired and needed to sleep early.

Do you know what this means??

We could've eaten at Pappa Rich!!

...

A greater force is at work here.

:P

Watched whatever remained of Johnny English Reborn and about 2 minutes of Vampires Suck before deciding it's a 2-minute commitment sane people just don't have. Went downstairs to check if Sword Art Online had released its ninth episode only to be disappointed.

Came back up and messaged Chucky a while before starting to draft my blog posts again.

Am currently listening to "He Mele No Lilo" by Mark something :P It's the opening theme to the Lilo and Stitch movie?

Yeah~

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Today's million-dollar question: Daniel Sloss, anyone?

*         *          *

Ola :)

Mom woke me up today at 6:27a.m. Obviously I didn't give much care to my own alarm, which I had set at 6:15a.m. Lately I've been feeling too tired to wake up for anything, really.

Not a good sign.

After freshening up and getting my stuff ready for school, my mom, dad, brother and I left to the Restoran Jiulixiang near my school. Ate the bbq pork noodles + wantan before my parents dropped me off at school.

Was stopped outside the assembly hall by Mr Hobo and got interrogated with regards to why I was late. Obviously I told him I had permission to do so. Plus, my mom wouldn't allow me to step into school without proper breakfast, so... Yeah~

Had a little time before our BM examination so I read my exercise book a while before the paper started. Not bad, actually. One of the questions in the 2nd section was similar to the essay I had done the night before and I was going to do that one but I saw a different one that I wanted to attempt so...

:P

When the paper ended, I told Dellie about my dad's plans to bring the both of us to lunch before going to her place to study History. It's not Wednesday's paper but I wasn't exactly prepared for that so some help would be nice.

After recess, I felt really, really nauseous. Don't know why, but I felt like if I put anything into my mouth, it would just come back out. The second paper was due to start in half an hour so I studied all could first before it started.

Wasn't too bad, but my hand felt like shit after the exam. When our papers were collected and the class was cleaned, Dellie and I left to the toilet then to the back of our school where my dad collected us.

Ate at De Maw Guan. Awesome stuff.

Dad dropped us off again after lunch where Dellie and I studied History until 4:30p.m. Dad fetched me after that. Upon reaching home, I bathed then got my books ready for the first tuition for the day - Maths.

My Add Maths teacher was teaching me Maths. She's a real jack of all traits, so I can trust her to teach me well :)

2 hours later, my brother bought my dinner. After eating it - chicken rice - I had my second class for the day - Chemistry - by my Biology teacher. She was good, of course. After all, she's more of a Chem pro than a Bio pro.

At 10:30p.m, I drank soup, ate my meds, then got around to drafting my blog posts while listening to music before going to sleep.

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Today's million-dollar question: What's your definition of a good time?

*          *          *

Ola :)

Woke up at around 8:30a.m today. Officially, that is. I'm sure the many times I woke up in the middle of the night don't count. BIG thanks to the new pup we've fondly dubbed Poodie - short for Poodle - who can't shut up when he's alone.

-.-

Had Aromantic for breakfast together with a slice of bread. And a cup of orange-apple juice that my aunt concocted. Haha.

For lunch, my mom and I went to the old vegetarian shop. There, my mom and I shared a set for two, where we had the sweet and sour 'chicken', veggie, seaweed soup, egg+bittergourd and Chinese tea.

O.O

After packing a 'hakka lei cha' for my aunt, we paid the bill and left for home. When 3 o'clock came, my BM teacher arrived and we had class. My mom left for work at around 5 and I was left to study a little of Maths before eating dinner at 8:30p.m.

That, was at the dai chao place opposite my house. Not a fancy restaurant - just a normal roadside stall, where we ate a fish, chicken, veggie and beancurd. Satisfying, as usual.

At home, I continued doing some BM essays before my mom decided it was time for me to go to sleep. That was at 10:30p.m, when CSI:12 was just starting to get interesting :(

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

~25/08/2012~

Today's million-dollar question: Where do people find the courage to commit suicide?

*          *          *

Ola :)

Woke up twice today. Once at 7:30a.m, thanks to my wonderful dad for playing golf early in the morning. 'Cause of that, Pepper launched herself out of the gate as fast as her legs could carry her when my dad opened the gate.

Now, I've made it clear before how Pepper is, in this sense. You can bring her out to the park without a leash because as long as you get on your knees, open your arms wide and coax her to you, she will go to you. In that way, she's slightly better than Snuffles, who couldn't give a shit about who tugs her chains once she's out of the house.

But obviously, my dad's not the kind of guy who would get on the floor and call "Pepper~~!" in a high-pitched voice with arms outstretched in a welcoming way, so he did the only thing he could.

Call me.

And so, quite grudgingly, I got up from bed, jumped two steps a time on the stairs and opened the door, seeing Snuffles at the gate as I did so. Got mad, then.

Let me explain why: When my dad called me, he had mistakenly said 'Snowy' instead of 'Pepper'. I was quite surprised in that sense because Snowy would normally stay inside if my dad asked her to (since he only needed the gate open for a few seconds – as the Naza is forever outside now).

That's why I got mad when I saw Snowy. You see, my dad has a nasty and annoying habit of lying just to get my siblings and I up from bed, sometimes. Not only that, it could be for other stuff too. Which is why I got  little angry. I thought he had lied just to get me up.

That's when I realized he meant Pepper.

So, I ran out to the park and immediately searched for Pepper. Wasn't too hard: in my garden, you just need to follow the barks to find a missing dog. There was Andrew black dog in the park besides Pepper, though,  before I found her. Good thing she didn't pick a fight with it.

Yeah, she's dumb that way.

T'was hard carrying her with one arm -.- Forgot to mention it was raining so I was carrying an umbrella with my left hand. Haha~

After I came home, I changed my shirt then jumped back into bed. The next time I woke up was at 11:55a.m and even that was only because my aunt called me.

Next time, if I wake up earlier than planned, I'm not gonna go back to sleep.

Ugh~

Had lunch with my mom at the new organic vegetarian shop today. Ord my usual spaghetti and icede soya bean. Had the fried burdock dish too. Oh, and my mom ordered the Wakame miso soup.

Post-lunch, I went back to my house and used the computer to watch a few more episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender before a 2-hour lesson with my Physics teacher.

The one my brother dubbed 'she who laughs real loud'.

It's true, though :P

It was a few minutes till 5 o'clock when lesson ended. Messaged my mom saying I'll be late (my brother told me she needed my help at 5) because I wanted to bathe, ended up reaching the office at 5:30p.m only because I had to wait until the mak cik left our house.

Turns out my mom wanted me to help her record the concert she was holding later at six. That job was turned over to my brother soon after because Sotong wanted me to help him with his camcorder.

Was quite a bit of agony filming the goddamn thing. Mainly because it spanned an hour and fifteen minutes long, I had to stand the whole time and had to shift the angle and position of the camera after - and during - every item because some parents seated in front of me kept moving their heads here and about -.-

When it was finally over, I stopped the camcorder and listened to my mom give her ending speech before they began their feast.

Yeah, a handful of people who know my mom well enough would know that that's the norm whenever she holds concerts. Students' parents are asked to bring some food so we can all enjoy later, my mom ordered pizza.

I didn't eat at first, though. I mean, I didn't perform, so it wouldn't make sense if I ate their food, so, I went downstairs and accompanied my aunt and dad, dad eventually went back up though and a few minutes after, my mom called me up to have some food.

The vegetarian rendang was delicious. I liked most of the home cooked food. Maybe because I haven't had home cooked food since the maid left,

-.-

That aside, after all the eating and the cleaning up and the moving of the instruments back to their original places, we closed the shop and went back home.

Once at home, I listened to Sam Tsui's new duet cover with Elle Winter of Owl City's Good Time. I actually listened to the original after the cover because I think Carly Rae Jepsen has a unique voice.

Yeah~

After that, I went to sleep because it was super late, but I didn't fall asleep until really late.

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Today's million-dollar question: Who died and made you King of anything?

*          *          *

Ola :)

I shall skip on the hypothetical thing: I don't feel like thinking too much. I'm actually drafting this blog post whilst in the OverTime in Solaris Dutamas. Haha. Waiting for food, actually. Would have been playing Hotel Dash: Suite Success if it were up to me but Mom has voiced her disagreements.

And obviously, I have to obey.

-.-

Anyways, that aside, I woke up at around nine something today because my parents wanted to have breakfast in the market today. Yes, that is rare, because we are not the go-for-breakfast kind of people. My idea of breakfast is a cup of cereal (cornflakes). Well, at least, it has been my idea of breakfast since the maid left.

:P

*Pause*

Sorry, the lighting was bad and I had to stop.

So, anyway, we left to the market and went to that place near MC. I got something else, though. I had the ham-egg bun, 'cause its been so bloody long since the last time I ate that. It tasted awesome.

Drank iced Milo, as usual.

After breakfast, we lounged a bit before I went to bathe, got dressed, then left with my parents and brother to KLCC where we visited the annual book fest by Popular. Reached at around 12 something?

Damn, was the place CROWDED!

T'was like nobody had gone to a book fair before. People of all ages were everywhere. Even small toddlers. Then again, there WAS an event prepared specially for kids around that age, so I suppose obviously they would attend.

I got a few books. One of them "The Definitive Book of Body Language" by Allan and Barbara Pease. I also got one book from the Chicken Soup series themed Thinking Postitive.

No prizes for guessing who wanted me to get that book.

Got a few others but I shan't bore you with the details. Qualified for the "I Love Popular" contest so I signed up, answered the questions and then our family left the place for lunch at Pappa Rich.

This time, instead of my N10 order or the vegetarian nasi lemak dish, I got the V07. Surprising, no?

Even my drink was different. Ordered the D16 drink. Turned out alright. I wouldn't order the V07 again but I think I have a new favourite drink :P

Dad and Uncle Ho joined up at around 3:30p.m. Started playing Hotel Dash: Suite Success whilst waiting for them. Left at 4 something.

From then on, it was Sword Art Online 7 and KoiChoco 5 & 6 before we all left to Publika for dinner.

Ordered the Breaded Fish & Chips. I didn't realize what 'breaded' meant -.- The other stuff s fine, though.

And all the while, OT was playing songs that I knew. First was "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri. Then, it was "Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne. Followed by my sister's favourite (one of them, anyway) "King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles. Also, they played "Kiss Me" by (insert unknown artist name here) and "Listen To Your Heart" by DHT. Oh, and while my mom, aunt and I were leaving, they had just started playing "Hello" by Lionel Richie.

:(

Why were only my mom, aunt and I leaving?

We had to get some stuff from Free Mori.

Haha.

Brother joined us halfway.

At Free Mori, which you can read about here, we got quite a few stuff. I got a spicy floss roll, a tuna Danish, a Parmesan ham pastry, croissant, marble cake and one Black Beauty (of chocolate and chocolate cake).

I can feel you salivating.

:P

When we left Free Mori, (which was heartbreaking for me because I wanted the last opera slice of cake but my mom objected) we headed back to OT and then to the Tai Tong branch near Leisure Mall.

Why?

To get moon cake for my sister.

-.-

When that was done, we went home. I sat at the couch for  while before switching the computer on. Listened to the full version of Kaze no Naka no Primrose, which you can hear here (I've updated!) a few times before taking screenshots of Sword Art Online 7 for the episode review. Mind you, it'll take a while before I actually do because I won't be in town for a couple of days.

So here I am, upstairs with my parents watching Red. You know, Retired and Extremely Dangerous? Yeah, the one with Bruce Willis. Before this, my parents were watching Thor on HBO. Haha, I know, right? They had never seen it before and my dad has wanted to watch it for a while now so...

Lucky him, eh?

Gonna sleep soon, I guess. After this, that is :)

So Sick - Sam Tsui & Max & Kurt Schneider *Ne-Yo* + D

Mmm mmm, yeah
Doo doo, doo doo doo, doo doo doo
Oh yeah

Gotta change my answering machine
Now that I'm alone
'Cuz right now it says that we
Can't come to the phone

And I know it makes no sense
'Cuz you walked out the door
But it's the only way I hear your voice anymore

(It's ridiculous)
It's been months
And for some reason I just
(Can't get over us)
And I'm stronger than this, yeah

(Enough is enough)
No more walkin' round
With my head down
(Yeah)
I'm so over being blue
Cryin' over you

And I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishing
You were still here

Said I'm so sick of love songs
So sad and slow
So why can't I turn off the radio?

Gotta fix that calendar I have
That's marked July 15th
Because since there's no more you
There's no more anniversary

I'm so fed up with my thoughts of you
And your memory
And how every song reminds me
Of what used to be

That's the reason I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishing
You were still here

Said I'm so sick of love songs
So sad and slow
So why can't I turn off the radio?

(Leave me alone)
Leave me alone
(Stupid love songs)
Don't make me think about her smile
Or having my first child
I'm letting go
Turning off the radio

'Cuz I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishing
She was still here

Said I'm so sick of love songs
So sad and slow
So why can't I turn off the radio?
(Why can't I turn off the radio?)

Said I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishing
She was still here

Said I'm so sick of love songs
So sad and slow
Why can't I turn off the radio?
(Why can't I turn off the radio?)

And I'm so sick of love songs
So tired of tears
So done with wishin'
You were still here

Said I'm so sick of love songs
So sad and slow
So why can't I turn off the radio?
(Why can't I turn off the radio?)
Why can't I turn off the radio?

Good Time - Sam Tsui & Elle Winter *Owl City ft. Carly Rae Jepsen* + D

Mmm~ yeah~ oh~
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh
Woah-oh-oh-oh

Woke up on the right side of the bed
What's up with this Prince song inside my head?
Hands up if you're down to get down tonight
'Cause it's always a good time

Slept in all my clothes like I didn't care
Hopped into a cab, take me anywhere
I'm in if you're down to get down tonight
'Cause it's always a good time

Good morning and good night
I wake up at twilight
It's gonna be alright
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh, woah-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Yeah~
It's always a good time

Freaked out, dropped my phone in the pool again
Checked out of my room hit the ATM
Let's hang out if you're down to get down tonight
'Cause it's always a good time

Good morning and good night
I wake up at twilight
It's gonna be alright
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh, woah-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Doesn't matter when
It's always a good time then
Doesn't matter where
It's always a good time there

Doesn't matter when,
It's always a good time then

It's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh, woah-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh, woah-oh
It's always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time

Woah-oh-oh-oh, woah-oh
It's always a good time

シンガポール 1日目

Today's million-dollar question: How do you stop a seizure?

*          *          *

You don't -.-

As far as I'm concerned, whenever I get jerks, a seizure will happen.

And that's what went down on Monday just before we were about to leave for Singapore.

-.-

You see, the day before, I had gone to sleep at around 2 something. It wasn't without my parents' permissions, technically. They were there when I was watching TV :)

We watched quite a few stuff on Astro within that time. My parents were watching Thor whilst I used the computer for a while longer but I managed to catch the end after switching the computer off.

I also charged my iPad overnight so I could watch my movies with ease in Singapore.

[Of course, I didn't realize I was going to get a seizure -.-]

Thor finished at around 12. Next was Red.

You remember that show? RED: Retired, Extremely Dangerous? Bruce Willis starred in that film? Alongside Morgan Freeman (who died in the end, unfortunately) and some other actors.

Uh huh~

Red finished at around 2 and that's how I ended up sleeping late.

Not to mention I had to wake up early the next day. Had my alarm set to ring at 5:45a.m. Of course, I only became aware that my phone was ringing when it was 6:30a.m -.-

Bathed before my parents. I'm guessing it's 'cause they wanted to sleep some more -.- I don't blame them: my dad'll have to drive for three hours plus, right?

So after I went down, I used the computer again to convert Ella Enchanted into mp4 format so I could watch it on my iPad later. That was when I got it.

The jerks.

At first, when it happened, it didn't occur to me that it was my jerks. You know, since the last seizure I had was quite some time ago, I thought my condition had stabilized.

So I just waved it off and continued what I was doing.

But it happened again.

I still didn't think it was my jerks.

To explain it in simpler terms, I'll use Lovely Complex as an example. Of course, only those who've watched it would understand what I'm talking about, but anyways, here's the gist of it:

Girl and guy are friends. They've been friends - and sometimes, enemies - since the start of school. However, one day, the girl realizes she likes him. She confesses but the guy says she's been his friend for so long, he doesn't know if he can suddenly see her as his girlfriend.

In a way, that's what I thought of my jerks when they came. I thought it couldn't have been jerks because they haven't come in so long.

Until it happened a third time.

That's when it hit me. That it must've been my jerks. Almost immediately, I got up and crept to the couch where I laid flat and entwined my fingers together across my stomach, closing my eyes and thinking about nothing.

Obviously it didn't do much -.-

I still got my seizure.

Felt, as usual, like shit when I came to. It was 8:3a.m when we finally left home for Singapore. Sucked big time, because all I wanted to do was sleep. Under normal circumstances I would've loved such an opportunity, but because of the seizure-after-effects, I was too woozy to have Baskin Robbins.

*Whines*

I was convinced that anything that went into my mouth would just come back out so I refused ice cream. Surprising, I know. But I'd rather not have ice cream than jack all over my dad's car.

-.-

Got better as we entered Singapore. Collected my sister from her place after dropping her stuff off. Went somewhere for lunch, I think. Can't remember much because I don't think I was even concentrating whilst in the car.

After checking in, my sister asked if I wanted to bunk in her room because we only had one hotel room this time in Hotel Michael. It would've been Festive Hotel, originally, but they were fully booked this time, so we had to pick another hotel.

Also under Sentosa, of course.

I accepted my sister's offer because if not, my dad would've slept on the floor - or the couch. It doesn't matter. It's stupid.

Can't remember where we had dinner either because my mind's still screwed up. Even now, yes.

Remembered sleeping at around 1, though. I wanted to show my sister Daniel Sloss' new video as well as listen to 風の中の Primrose :)

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Sword Art Online Ep 7

Alright, this is way overdue. This episode came out like... six days ago, but I've been caught up with some stuff and haven't been in Malaysia for some time, so...

-.-

Yeah~

Anyways, voila, the review for:

Sword Art Online Ep 7

So what happens in this episode is Kirito, our swashbuckling hero, decides to have a new sword custom-made for him.

Which, by the way, I totally do not understand. His Elucidator seems perfectly fine and frankly speaking, if he gets any stronger, they're gonna need more than what they have to stop him from winning the game.

You see, due to some misunderstanding, Kirito now has to help Lizbeth (the pretty pink-haired lass) gather materials for his new sword.

And it just so happens their adventure involves facing the wrath of a giant ice dragon on some high-leveled Floor. What do you think she's hiding from?

So this is pretty much how everything went down whilst they were fighting the humongous dragon.

Look at the third and fourth boxes on the bottom right and left.

Doesn't Kirito look absolutely awesome?

You should see him in action. They warrant his awesome-ness much better than just these pictures.

Not to mention he just proved to me again that there is no reason for him to have a new sword since his current one is great enough.

Quite unfortunately, something bad happens just as Kirito's about to deliver the final blow. Thanks to that, they get trapped in what they think is a contraption designed to kill them.

On the contrary, it was the dragon's nest that they fell into. Due to that, Kirito manages to find the crystal they were looking for.

The picture above was before she realized the crystal was the dragon's excrement (since the dragon eats crystals and digests them).

Obviously, the picture on the left was after she realized t'was the dragon's crap.

Either way, they got what they went there for, so all that was left was to figure out a way to get out of the hole.

That was when Liz (which is what she prefers to be called), has a revelation (or rather, she remembered) that dragons were nocturnal creatures. Thus, the dragon returns and Kirito saves the both of them by using the dragon to jump out of the hole.

Honestly speaking, I didn't fancy this part of the episode. Looked fake.

Ooh, and she also confessed to him here.

He didn't hear it, though. Kirito's one of those ultimately dense, retarded main characters who reminds me of Kenshin (from Rurouni Kenshin), in a way.

Oh, and Otani (from Lovely Complex).

That aside, after they got out safely from the hole and Floor, Kirito and Liz went back to her shop.

Cool sword, eh?

After the two of them arrived back at Liz's sword shop, she quickly got started on Kirito's sword. He was there to witness the whole sword-making process and thought it was incredible.

Apparently, Liz "poured all her soul and love for him" into the sword and told herself that if he liked it, she would confess.

Quite unfortunately, before she had the chance to, Asuna burst into the shop and wrapped her arms around...

... Liz.

What would I give for her to suddenly declare her love for Kirito in this episode but too bad for me, Asuna was worried about her best friend.

Her sudden inability to call/message/track her made her unbelievably worried. She didn't even realize Kirito was standing there until Liz said she was with him.

And that's when she realized that Asuna and Kirito have a little somethin'-somethin' going on between them. Being the supportive best friend that she is, she decided to give up on Kirito and encourage Asuna to be a little more truthful with her feelings instead.

And this is what she ended up looking like after she left her shop. Kirito found her soon after but she had already made up her mind about giving up, but only after Kirito promised to drop by every now and then if he needed any maintenance done on his sword.

And that sums up the entire episode. It was short and didn't span two episodes like the previous two, but I guess it was alright.

:)

I'm looking forward to the next episode more, though. Why?

It's called:

Black & White Sword Dance!!

That can only mean one thing: It's dedicated to Kirito (black sword) and Asuna (white sword)!!

Avatar: The Legend of Korra

Picture curtesy of Google Images
And once again, by request of a friend (the same friend), I'm reviewing Avatar: The Legend of Korra. I'd wanted to do so for a long time but just never got around to doing it because I was lazy.

-.-

Anyways, Legend of Korra technically revolves around the same thing: The Avatar must bring balance and peace to the world. The only difference between this installment and its prequel is that:

1. The Avatar's job here is to maintain the balance and peace between the worlds.

Post-war-with-the-previous-Fire-Lord, the world had technically already regained its peace status under Aang's reign.

2. It's centered within the walls of Republic City.

Republic City is the main setting for this series. It's a large metropolis with a highly-trained police force consisting of metalbenders

3. It's more fast-paced.

In contrast with its prequel, The Legend of Korra moves at a slightly faster pace than The Last Airbender. The directors wasted no time in the story development.

4. The characters are older than the previous installment.

The Avatar and Co. in this series are around the ages of 16-18 years old (depending if I'm accurate with my assumptions :P). Definitely older than when it was Aang, Katara and Sokka, whom were 12, 14 and 15 respectively.

5. The Avatar is a girl.

Oh yes, the main character and Avatar is a full-fledged teenage girl with raging hormones and an attitude to match

Picture curtesy of Google Images
"Tch, it's not my fault I'm a girl."

-.-

Overview:

Since she was young, Korra had been training under mentors to earthbend, firebend and waterbend (under Katara). The only thing she had left to learn was airbend, whom she was supposed to learn under Tenzin, Aang and Katara's youngest child.

Quite unfortunately for her, Tenzin postponed her training because he had things to settle in Republic City (as he is one of the oh-so-important Council members). Unwilling to postpone her training, Korra follows him to Republic City and runs headfirst into Lin Beifong, Toph's daughter, who is the Chief of the police force in Republic City.

Havoc ensues and before she knows it, Korra is thrown into jail.

After bailing her out, Tenzin reprimands her severely before insisting that she return home to the Southern Water Tribe. Korra refuses and pleads to stay with him in Republic City and his family. He says no at first, but relents in the end.

From here on out, it's trouble and trouble and more trouble

In chunks

For one, she gets involved in Pro-Bending, which is a competition whereby a team of three benders (water/fire/earthbender) battle against another team of the same composition in an arena, climb their way up to the top and gain the title of Pro-Benders. Against Tenzin's better judgement.

Then, she gets herself wrapped around the finger of Councilman Tarrlok, who is a rotten politician down to his toes.

Oh, she also gets involved in a sticky and complicated relationship with heartthrob Mako, who's supposedly dating Sato Asami, the daughter of Sato Hiroshi.

The primary antagonist in this series is Amon, the leader of the Equalists. The Equalists are a group of non-benders who believe in a world without benders so as to achieve equality amongst the people of the world.

I can't really blame them for thinking that way. Seems kind of unfair that only chosen people get to manipulate elements, which is so bloody awesome

Honestly speaking, I'd be jealous too :P

Picture curtesy of Google Images
Anyways, back to Equalists, they specialise in a kind of fighting which renders bending useless. Things get worse when Amon is revealed to have the ability to take one's bending away. This was demonstrated when he captured a few benders (including Bolin, Mako's brother and one of the members on the Fire Ferrets team). Of course, he's saved before anything was done to him.

Either way, knowing that Amon could do what was known as "energybending" (whom Aang was thought as the only person in history who could do it) worried a great deal of people, Korra and Tenzin included. And so, the great cat-and-mouse chase of the century begins, with everybody on Lin Beifong's task force as well as Korra participating.

Not wanting to spoil everything before you actually watch the show, I'll just conclude with:

3/5 for Character Development

I know, I know, it's kind of surprising, given the positive remarks from other critics. Yet, I find Korra insufferable in more ways than not. I understand that she's meant to be obstinate and aggressive as well as stubborn and headstrong, but there's only so much people can deal with.

And, although Mako is drop-dead gorgeous, I really hated him when he started "dating" Asami. I can't even call it dating because he never really liked her. It was like he was with her only because he was in denial (regarding his love for Korra).

In that sense, I guess it was pretty redundant.

Bleghh~

The only thing stopping me from rating this 2/5 is the fact that I love the other characters. I love Tenzin. He's hilarious. I love Lin too. And I find Bolin a good contrast to Mako's "dark and gloomy" personality.

Also, despite the fact that I didn't like Korra in the beginning, I began liking her towards the end because she stopped worrying about her feelings for Mako and instead really started to kick butt :P

4/5 for Originality (after the first series).

I think it was great that they were able to come up with the concept of the Equalists and their fight for a non-bending world. It's different from The Last Airbender, where one nation decides on conquering the rest of the nations through war.

The fact that the Avatar is a girl in this sequel also strikes me as a good point. Apparently, it's because Avatar Kyoshi got great reviews.

5/5 for Artwork.

Since The Last Airbender, one of the reasons why I've loved this series is because of the art. I love the style of the four nations as they evolved and even the police force's outfits. So cool :P I love Korra's hairstyle too :)

Long story short: The art's great.

3/5 for Storyline.

This technically falls under Originality, because the storyline has to be based on the creator's originality, but while I rated Originality 4/5, I only rate this 3/5 because it was quite choppy for me. At some times I feel it was rushed, and the other times it feels as if stuff were added in just to satisfy the episode length.

All in all, I don't mind it, and it's only MY opinion, so I didn't think too much of it.

4/5 for Time Well Spent.

Haha.

It's not really something I would put into when reviewing, because it's retarded and makes no sense, but I consider this series something you should watch if you have time.

*          *          *

In short, I would continue watching this. Naturally, the story hasn't concluded. It's only in its first season, Book 1: Air and has been airing since April till June. The second season has been said to start sometime in 2013, which is next year.

You may read Sekijitsu's pre-review on this show, though, if you'd like a second opinion :)

P/S/S: Please remember that this is purely MY opinion on the show. To know more, you should really watch this yourself (and I strongly recommend this to teenagers who like stuff like this).

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - Taylor Swift + D

I remember when we broke up the first time
Saying this is it, I've had enough, 'cause like
We haven't seen each other in a month
When you, said you, needed space, what?

Then you come around again and say
Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change
Trust me, remember how that lasted for a day?
I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you

Ooh, we called it off again last night
But ooh, this time
I'm telling you
I'm telling you

We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together

You go talk to
Your friends talk to
My friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Like, ever

I'm really gonna miss you picking fights
And me, falling for it, screaming that I'm right
And you, will hide away and find your piece of mine
With some indie record that's much cooler than mine

Ooh you called me up again tonight
But ooh, this time
I'm telling you
I'm telling you

We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together

You go talk to
Your friends talk to
My friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh

I used to think that we were forever ever
And I used to say never say never

Huh, so he calls me up and he's like, I still love you
And I'm like, I'm just, I mean this is exhausting, you know
Like we're never getting back together
Like ever

No

We are never ever ever getting back together
We are never ever ever getting back together

You go talk to
Your friends talk to
My friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

We, ooh, ooh, getting back together,
We, ooh, ooh, getting back together

You go talk to
Your friends talk to
And my friends talk to me
But we are never ever ever ever getting back together

Kim Lian Kee @ AEON, Cheras Selatan

Another food review?

Wow, I must be on a roll!

That aside, this place is called Kim Lian Kee and apparently specializes in Hokkien cuisine. My dad heard about it from an acquaintance who said it was quite good so we decided to give it a try.

This was the end product of our dinner. Quite unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture of it before it was completely and mercilessly ravaged by yours truly and famiglia.

The second box contains my drink - Orange juice. The others had the usual Chinese tea -.-

Those who know me would know there's no way I'd subject myself to such cruel and unusual punishment :P

This is how the restaurant looks like from the inside. In the first box, you can see the name of the restaurant in Mandarin.

All the newspaper-clippings are supposed to tell everybody how great and how far they've come, I suppose.

And it was friggin' crowded when we went. My mouth was ajar the whole way until we sat at the table -.- The fourth box should be enough to prove my statement.

But I'll add all these anyway:

Look at the amount of people waiting outside? It's unfathomable.

Why?

Let's see:

2/5 for Food. For a restaurant so greatly praised for its food, I'm very, very surprised. Their fu kin mai fan meen tasted a wee bit bitter, the sui gao left a funny aftertaste, the soup(s) was bad and the beansprout dish was sour

O.O

1/5 for Service. I didn't think I'd never need to give such a low rating for anything at all, but this place deserves it. The waitresses were rude! And ignorant! They didn't know what to do about anything and snatched dishes away from our hands like we were the banes of their existence. There was only one waiter who was good-natured enough to apologize for tardiness or the sour beansprouts.

3/5 for Cleanliness. The tables were sticky and when we asked the waiters to wipe 'em a bit, they just gave us tissue

Yeah, if tissue could solve all our issues, I'd be a very happy person.

But other than that, it was alright. That's why: 3/5.

2/5 for Price. The food did little to sate the hunger in us since they were not appetizing. Yet, we were charged RM110++. For a restaurant in a mall, it's not too bad, but only if the food's good. With all the sucky service and less-than-tasty food, it's not worth it at all.

And that pretty much sums it up. Given a choice, I would never pay a second visit, even if my only other option was Taang Shifu, packed with people.

Uh-huh. Sorry, Kim Lian Kee, but no way.

Then again, I can only vouch for the outlet in Cheras Selatan. So, if you insist on going, here are the details:

I Got You - Leona Lewis

Just added another song to my playlist :) Thanks to:

This has got to be my favourite performance in any of the SYTYCD seasons :) Here's the original, the lyrics, and the download link:

A place to crash, I got you
No need to ask, I got you
Just get on the phone, I got you
Come and pick you up if I have to

What's weird about it is we're right at the end
I'm mad about it, just figured it out in my head
I'm proud to say
I got you

Go ahead and say goodbye, I'll be alright
Go ahead and make me cry, I'll be alright
And when you need a place to run to
For better, for worse I got you

I got you

Ain't falling apart or bitter
Let's be bigger than that and remember
The cooling outdoor when you're all alone
Won't survive it, no drama, no need for a show

Just wanna say I got you

Go ahead and say goodbye, I'll be alright
Go ahead and make me cry, I'll be alright
And when you need a place to run to
For better, for worse I got you

Go ahead and say goodbye, I'll be alright
Go ahead and make me cry, I'll be alright
And when you need a place to run to
For better, for worse, I got you

'Cause this is love and life
And nothing we can both control
And if it don't feel right
You're not losing me by letting me know

Go ahead and say goodbye, I'll be alright
Go ahead and make me cry, I'll be alright
And when you need a place to run to
For better, for worse I got you

Go ahead and say goodbye, I'll be alright
Go ahead and make me cry, I'll be alright
And when you need a place to run to
For better, for worse I got you

A place to crash, I got you
No need to ask, I got you

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Okay, so by request of a friend (as I'm sure you would know if you read my chat box -.-), here's the review for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

In their world, it is d i v i d e d into four nations: the Water Tribe, the Fire Nation, the Air Nomads and the Earth Kingdom. Each of these nations specialize in a particular type of element which gave them their names. So:

Water Tribe
Fire Nation
Air Nomads
Earth Kingdom

However, a mediator is needed at all times to protect the balance of the world and the peace between the four nations. Fancily dubbed the "Avatar", this one individual has the ability to bend all four elements. Lifted from Wikipedia, the Avatar is like "the spirit of the world reincarnated into human form". And since one is always in need, whenever the Avatar dies (be it from natural causes or murder), the spirit is once again reborn into the next nation in the Avatar Cycle.

He/She does, however, have to be careful because should the Avatar die whilst in the Avatar State (which is a brief moment in time when the current Avatar is given all the knowledge and abilities of the previous Avatars), the cycle would be broken and the Avatar lost, forever.

Originally a Nickelodeon broadcast, The Last Airbender follows the story of Aang (pronounced with an "ehng" sound, not the "uhng" like in the movie. Stupid assholes -.-) as he strives to restore the balance in the world which was lopsided because of Sozin, the idiot Fire Lord from that time.

You see, Fire Lord Sozin wanted more than just his nation. He wanted all the nations to be united under his reign. Greedy, right? I know -.- His best friend (who was actually Avatar Roku) did his best to thwart his plans to dive into a world war, but the damage was already done.

Even after Avatar Roku passed away (watch the show if you wanna know how), the war raged on.

Needing an Avatar, the monks in the Southern Air Temple decided, against Monk Gyatso's (Aang's mentor) better judgement, to tell Aang of his destiny. Told that he was the Avatar prematurely prompted Aang to escape from his responsibilities as the Avatar by running away on his sky bison, Appa.

However, in his attempt to run, Aang gets engulfed in a storm. Activating some defense mechanism in his Avatar State, though, he is able to bend the water around him and freeze it so that he remains alive throughout the storm.

Shortly after, Fire Lord Sozin orders a massacre on all the Air Nomads so as to completely rid the world of Avatars. This involves the death of every existing airbender save Aang, who was still in the ice cube.

100 years passed till Katara, a 14-year-old waterbender and her 15-year-old brother, Sokka finally broke Aang out of the iceberg when they went out fishing one day and discovered him. Since then, they've been helping him on his conquest to "save the world".

Loved this show a lot. Forced my sister to watch it. She'd know :P

Interest was maintained as the 60-episode show dragged on. Plenty of humour (because Sokka is a naturally funny and intuitive guy) and romance too.

If you like adventure and action where people can bend the four elements, this is definitely the show for you. Alternatively, you could try the movie, but I wouldn't watch it again. EVER.

That's about it, then :) CIAO!!
