Aal Ameen @ Singapore

Okay, so lately, I've been down to Singapore to watch my sister's senior recital in YST. The next day, she brought us to this Indian place for a small snack-slash-dinner. I'm not sure what the place is called but from its name on the menu, here's the review for:

Aal Amaan!!

So here's a picture of the cover of the restaurant's menu

Just to clear things up: No, that's not all that the restaurant offers. I just didn't have the patience to take a picture of every single page in the menu -.-

Make do with whatever I took, okay?
Top left: Butter chicken. A definite must-have when you decide to go there.

Top right: Palak Paneer. Yeah, when I know what the heck that means, I'll type it here but for now, it's "the green stuff".

Bottom left: Mixed Platter Chicken. Not to say it's delicious, but it's not bad either.

Bottom right: Butter Naan, Plain Naan & Cheese Naan. All in 1 basket. Sure, don't worry, we know which is which -.-

Top left: Black Pepper Beef. According to my brother, it's really good

Top right: Yam Shake. I'm not a fan of yam-flavoured food/drinks but I'm guessing it wasn't bad. The marshmallows were a nice touch.

Bottom left: Teh Tarik. No comment.

Bottom right: Chicken Pataya. Really good stuff. The egg was well cooked and complemented the enveloped fried rice.

This is just a collage of the exterior and interior of the restaurant. It was right by the roadside so there were no air conditioners :)

All in all:

4/5 for Service.

The waiters (because the majority were men) were very attentive. They are vigilant, to say the least, and I would have given this a perfect rating except they were slow in action

For example, I ordered a cup of iced water when they took our orders. However, it never came. When I asked for it a second time (after a while), they still failed to give it to me. I had to ask for it another couple of times (with help from my dad) before I finally got to drink anything -.-

But I still gave this 4/5 because they were very alert. For example, when a family friend of ours was fanning herself to keep warm, a waiter offered to switch the fan on.

4/5 for Food.

The gravy/curry was good. The only thing I found missing was in the food itself. I didn't really like it because it tasted quite bland. That is, of course, only my opinion. Other people seemed to enjoy it, so...

-.-

The rice dishes like the Black Pepper Beef and the Chicken Pataya were really good though.

5/5 for Cleanliness.

I don't have a particular comment for this. The tables weren't sticky upon entry and the floor was generally clean. Not a lot of rubbish.

3/5 for Ambience.

The place was only a small area so it was quite tight-squeezed. Also, fans were used so there wasn't much ventilation. Nothing too serious though.

4/5 for Price.

Ahh~ Like I said, no perfect rating for price :P Either way, the prices are reasonable but it would be a bit pricey if converted to Malaysian Ringgit.

Well, to sum it all up, I wouldn't mind a second visit (I wanna try their Oreo Shakes :P). Unfortunately, they didn't have a restaurant card so I couldn't get any details such as addresses or phone numbers :( I just know it's in Singapore :P

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Solitaire Blitz

Whoo~ Finally, another Application review! It's been a while since my Dragon Story™ one, after all :)

So anyways, from:
We have:

Solitaire Blitz
(click on the pictures to enlarge them)

Technically, this is what you're supposed to see when you click on the App icon. Nothing fancy, just a "Solitaire Blitz" logo and a pirate starfish rolling its way to the other side of the loading bar -.-

The above picture on the left is what you'll see at the end of the game, actually. The thing is, that was the first picture I took when the App opened so...

:P

Anyways, the bottom picture is one where you get to select "boosts" in exchange for the silver you collect at the end of the game. You can choose a maximum of 3 boosts from the four that you are offered.

I'll get to how that works later.
As you can see from the top left picture, the standard time you get is 90 seconds

The deck opens with a card. The objective of this game is to finish up the cards on the bottom half of the top left pic by clicking on cards which come before/after it and so on.

For example, with the "J" that you see in the top left picture, you can click on "10", then "9", then "8" and then "7".

Once you no longer have any other cards which come before or after that card, then you draw a new card from the deck. When you've completed all that, you'll see the picture on the top right (without the "3-game streak", of course. That was me :P)

The two bottom pictures are your "rewards". Each denotes a certain amount of silver ranging from $5 to $3000 and above. These are the silver that you use to buy "boosts"

The one with Extra Time gives you extra time (mostly half a minute extra).

The Starting Joker allows you to draw any card from your deck as a starting card.

The Bonus Fish gives you a bonus (duh).

And the Key Magnet allows all the "keys" to appear in your starting deck. If you collect all the keys, you are able to unlock more decks so you may finish the game faster.

That's pretty much it for this game. It's more of a speed game because it tests your mind to see if you know which card comes before/after which card

It gets more and more fun as you get the hang of which card to put forth :)

This game is compatible with the iPhone (from 3GS+), iPod Touch (3rd Gen+), and the iPad series (goes for the Mini as well), although the App is generally optimized for the iPhone 5. It requires the iOS 4.3 or later and is rated 4+.

All in all:

5/5 for Artwork.
I love the cute little mermaid that comes to "bestow" your rewards unto you :P Beautiful graphics and adorable animations that help make this a more enjoyable game. Blue-themed as well, so it's easy on the eyes, rather than a nauseating shade of fuchsia pink -.-

3/5 for Gameplay.
I'm giving this a medium rating because you don't really enjoy this game unless you know exactly how to play it. I've been playing Solitaire for so long that it's natural for me to know what comes after what card so for me it's fun :)

However, if you don't mind playing like a noob then you'll find this game quite challenging :)

5/5 for Items.
One word = Fantastic.

For one, I don't have to use any money at all in this game, although there are in-app purchases available. That's because every time I play, I get more and more silver which I can use to purchase all those boosts. You literally spend no money at all playing this game.

Which is, once again, fantastic.

To sum it all up, this game is free and addictive, although there is only one tiny annoying bit about it. That would be the fact that you can only play it five times at one go. It's got that stupid "energy" thing which takes 10 minutes to earn -.-

I'm not sure if this is available for Android phones, but you can find out more about this App here!!

That's about it, then :) CIAO!!

Suisei no Gargantia Ep 3

Look, look! I'm doing episodical reviews again! Quite unfortunately, I would rather not review the first two episodes because I'm far too lazy -.-

However, you may read the reviews on Episode One and Episode Two by clicking on the links :) They're done by RandomC :)

Anyways, here's the episode review for:

Suisei no Gargantia Ep 3

Suisei no Gargantia
The Villainous Empress

So, from where they left off last week (which was Red being awesome with the vaporising of the pirates :P), Red is confused why Amy suddenly starts yelling at him when he returns.

The last picture on the bottom right is one of the leaders on Gargantia discussing the next possible moves they may exert on Red and the Yunboro.

Here, we have Red chilling with his robot, Chamber (who I think is absolutely cool too).

He's also wondering where he went wrong when Amy and Bellows come in on Amy's gliding device.
These next few pictures account for when Bellows talk to Red about why he did what he did to the pirates.

Over a fried chicken, yes, as you can see from the first top left and bottom right picture.

Here Bellows explains that although in space, the circumstances may allow for murder to happen, it's not how it is on Earth.

This collage pretty much clears Red's doubts.

I know, I know, you're already looking at the top right picture :P :P

Anyways, after Bellows and Amy talk to Red, the leaders on the Gargantia notice the enemy fleet approaching

And, after a lengthy discussion, they decide to take Red up on his offer to help them.
Ridget, the girl in the maroon outfit, and Red then speak rules and strategy here.

As you can see from the top left picture, the blondie was interested in Chamber, so he started inspecting the interior of it, but he dropped inside – which brings us to the top right picture of his ass -.-

If you're wondering what the blondie was talking about in the bottom left picture, it was about Chamber electrocuting him upon unauthorised entry :P

Finally, the war commenced after night falls. Guns fire and cannonballs fly, and Lady Lukkage (the supposed King Pirate) is nonchalant with the attack.

I find it quite sick that she has those two girl lackeys by her side, by the way. If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you'll be able to see that they're chained to her chair O.O

These four pictures are of the head-on collision between Gargantia and Lukkage's fleet. Obviously it didn't seem like they were winning, so Red decided to help them.

Chamber was so awesome :)

Ahh~ Finally, Lukkage comes into action. She's speeding over on her own Yunboro, saying that apparently Gargantia's not the only one with Yunboro's that can kick-ass.

Technically, for about 2 minutes, Lukkage starts beating the Gargantia fleet up with her Yunboro because it can sail above ships to get to the other side.

This is Lukkage's desperate attempt to get to the Fleet Captain of Gargantia.

She's obviously obsessed with getting to the captain O.O

Even her lackeys helped her when Red suddenly jumped on her back to get her away from the Fleet Captain.

As you can see, their efforts were in vain, because Red and Chamber, being the awesome people/thing they are, started flinging them round and round and round until they flew off.

O.O

Absolutely classic.

The people on Gargantia were grateful, which they expressed with "Thank You"s. Red was so cute here because he kept wondering why everyone was saying that.

T'wasn't till Chamber explained that he realised.

Not to mention, he tried it too, when he got down from Chamber in response to Amy's offer to cook him a marvellous dinner.

That's pretty much all that went down this week. Can't say I'm unsatisfied, because Red was fantastic, Chamber was cool and Amy was adorable :)

Oh, not to mention, the calmness in which Red handled the whole situation was knee-buckling.

Effects were nice, as usual, and generally, the whole episode was interesting. The only thing I'm worried about is how the story will progress. I mean, it'll probably end with Red going back to space to be with his other people, but what will the rest of the anime consist of, and will he forever need to be translated by Chamber?

Can't wait for the next episode, either way. Unfortunately, though, I do not have a preview of it :'(

Bangkok Beat Bistro @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya

Whoo~ Haven't done a food review in 9 months now. Seriously, the last time I reviewed a restaurant was on the 22nd of August, 2012, on The Chinese Cottage. But it's nice to do something like this once in a while, although it eats up a lot of my time.

That aside, today, the 21st of April (also my darling sister's birthday), my family and I, excluding my sister who was still in Singapore, went to the Empire Shopping Gallery to eat at...

Bangkok Beat Bistro!!

The picture above is pretty much the interior and the signboard of the restaurant. My family got a table for 5 and started ordering :)

This is a picture of the bistro's menu. It's printed on a back-to-back hard-cover A3-sized (I think) paper.

Plenty of food, as you can see. I think if you click on the pictures, you'll be able to make out the prices and food names :P
My family decided against a la carte today, so we ordered white rice and side dishes.

Top left: Pomelo Salad with Shrimp. It's one of the best-sellers and is a bit spicy.

Top right: Deep-Fried Spring Rolls with Thai Sweet Chilli Dip. Bit pricy, but it's nice.

Bottom left: Soft-Shell Crab in Mellow Yellow Curry. One word: Fantastic.

Bottom right: Glass Noodle Salad with Seafood. No comment.
And here, we have the Grilled Chicken Loin with Lettuce Wrap. Also very good.

I ordered the Massaman Beef Curry too, but unfortunately, I didn't put the picture here. I don't feel too bad, because I didn't really like it.

My parents also ordered two kinds of tom yum soup: Seafood in Red Tom Yum and Chicken in Red Tom Yum.

The big glass of Orange Juice is mine, by the way :P

As the name suggests, by the right is the desserts!!

My parents ordered two servings of Red Ruby with Coconut Ice Cream and the Mango Sticky Rice.

Quite unfortunately, my parents didn't fancy the Mango Sticky Rice. I'll mention why in the comments below :)

And lastly, here we have a picture of all of us looking downright happy :) Had to take quite a few pictures first, though, because some of us weren't looking at the camera properly :P

All in all:

4/5 for Food.

Everything was pretty much very good except for only a few things. Firstly, the white rice was very soft and so, it all clumped together. Maybe it was just for that batch, but either way, we had to eat that "lembap" rice -.-

Secondly, we didn't fancy the Mango Sticky Rice dish. The santan was probably from a canned source and the mango slices were sour. The sticky rice itself was very nice, though, and despite the previous comment, we finished everything :)

5/5 for Service.

I don't think I've given 5/5 for Service before, but the service in Bangkok Beat is great because it's immediate. One waiter in particular: Faizal, was very attentive and sought to please all customers so...

Yeah~

4/5 for Ambience.

Very nice atmosphere. Seats were comfortable (maybe because we sat in the couch area :P) and they played pretty much mostly slow and steady songs. At one point, they played a lot of Taylor Swift songs, though. But after that, they went on to The Band Perry, AeroSmith and others.

The only reason this is not rated 5/5 is because we can hear the noises from the kitchen, so everything around us is magnified. In the end, if we have to talk to each other, we have to increase our volumes too.

But this is not really an important thingy so... :)

5/5 for Cleanliness.

It's pretty much clean. Tables weren't sticky upon entry and the floors had minimal rubbish (bits and pieces of paper, maybe?).

4/5 for Price.

I don't think I'll ever give a 5/5 for Price, and that's for a very practical reason: I'm stingy. Either way, the price of our visit cost us RM260.05. My brother and I guessed as much so it must mean it was to be expected, right? My aunt thought it would cost us RM300+ O.O

This pretty much sums everything up :) If I'm with my family in the Empire Shopping Gallery again, maybe I'll give this place another visit (because the Soft Shell Crab dish was amazing).

Here are the details to the restaurant. I think they only have one branch, though:

Empire Shopping Gallery
47500 Subang Jaya,
Selangor Darul Ehsan,
+60 3 5637 8488

リトリチャ Ep 20 (3)

Here's the third and final part to this Ep :)

*          *          *

Question:
Write a character sketch about St John Rivers and answer the following questions:-

- How was Christianity portrayed in them?
- What were the effects on Jane Eyre?
- The effects on you as a reader.

Answer:

- Religious
- Kind
- Forceful
- Demanding
- Austere

- Christianity to St John Rivers is a duty. He quotes: "I claim you – not for my pleasure, but for my Sovereign's service".

- It makes Jane Eyre uncomfortable because she is not accustomed to God's ways.

- As a reader, we get the feeling that Christianity means a permanent sense of duty, as portrayed by St John's insistence on Jane Eyre's attachment to him.

Comment: Good.

Wasn't so satisfied with just "good", but oh well, I'll get better :P

リトリチャ Ep 20 (2)

As promised, the second half of Ep 20!!

*          *          *

Question:
Write a character sketch of Helen Burns and answer the following questions:-

- How was Christianity portrayed in them?
- What were the effects on Jane Eyre?
- The effects on you as a reader.

Answer:

- Forgiving
- Religious
- Kind
- Grateful

- Christianity is portrayed by Helen Burns as a guidebook to life. It is the words of a person preaching to forgive the sins of a wrongdoer. She quotes: "the Bible bids us return good for evil".

- Jane Eyre was more willing to forgive after that. She also learnt to restrain herself and learn from Helen Burns' character.

- It teaches readers about the importance of reading the Bible and deciphering it as a whole, instead of just its principles, like what Mr Brocklehurst did.

リトリチャ Ep 20

The next three posts are actually continual, but I'm going to be posting them in parts. They'll have the same title, though.

*          *          *

Question:
Give a character sketch of Mr Brocklehurst and answer the following questions:-
- How was Christianity portrayed in them?
- What were the effects on Jane Eyre?
- The effects on you as a reader.

Answer:

Character sketch of Mr Brocklehurst
- Judgemental
- Hypocritical
- Biased
- Prejudicial

- Christianity is portrayed as a set of rules instead of a religion. "A brief address on those occasions would not be mistimed, wherein a judicious instructor would take the opportunity of referring to the sufferings of the primitive Christians; to the torments of martyrs: to the exhortations of our blessed Lord Himself, calling upon His disciples to take up their cross and follow Him; to His warnings that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

- Jane Eyre was forced to comply with the strict rules and regulations enforced by Mr Brocklehurst based on the Bible and God's words.

- As a reader, this provides us with a very different perspective of Christianity, which can mislead us into thinking Christianity is rigid and inflexible.

Be prepared for the next one on Helen Burns :)

リトリチャ Ep 19

I know, I'm on a roll. Maybe because my teacher only recently returned most of my essays. Here's another Literature post for all of you, eh?

*          *          *

Question:
What is your opinion of Basho's poem?

Come, see real
flowers
of this painful world

Answer:

To me, this poem seems like the poet is referring to a journey. This journey is one that will be long and full of obstacles. The fact that the Japanese translation has 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line and 5 syllables again in the third line could symbolise a mountain. The mountain could also be a symbol of the journey. The first line is the start of the journey whereas the second line is the climax, which is why it has 7 syllables. The last line is the happy ending because it goes back to having 5 syllables.

The overall meaning of this poem could also mean that the poet wants the inhabitants of this world to see the beauty of the world despite having to go through obstacles to complete the journey. Just like the rose, although it has thorns which could draw blood, the flower itself is beautiful and worth the pain.

All in all, the world is perceived by Basho as beautiful even though it has flaws and (is) filled with potential pain and sorrow.

Comment: Thank you for sharing this :)

~#~

Let me explain my lecturer's comment. After we wrote our opinions, the lecturer asked a few of us to read them out loud. Of course, nobody volunteered (and frankly speaking, I thought mine was quite embarrassing) so our lecturer had to handpick whose to read.

And unfortunately, one of them was mine.

Hence, the above comment -.-

I've got some more after this, so stay tuned, eh?

リトリチャ Ep 18

This was written on the 27th of March but I didn't post this. No idea why, though.

Oh well, here it is now :)

*          *          *

Question:
Is love a choice?

Answer:

Love is generally perceived as the feelings that a person has for another. It is often thought of as the strongest emotion within the spectrum of human feelings, which is portrayed even in movies like Sleeping Beauty and Ella Enchanted.

And, like in most movies, love happens between the unlikeliest of characters. Some even forbidden, like Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet in Shakespeare's breathtaking romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. Their love for each other they knew was not meant to be, but they could not help it.

Therefore, to me, love is not a choice. We cannot choose who we love and neither can we force ourselves to love other people. In fact, it will have a negative effect on both parties, as you are not only hurting yourself, but the opposite person as well.

Besides, if love were a choice, homosexuals would not exist. Since homosexuals are not viewed as "acceptable" in some societies, they would be able to alter their sexual preferences in order to conform to the general public. Everyone would be able to choose who they love according to their own principles and without any difficulties.

However, while choosing whom you love is not a choice, choosing to act on it, is. For example, Romeo and Juliet could have chosen not to meet each other in secret or do anything to cause their love to blossom. Instead, they went against their family's wills and stood by their love until the very end. *My lecturer noted "true" for this paragraph*

In my experience as an adolescent, love can be cruel and unfair in the sense that you can love someone whom you know you can never have a proper relationship with. Thus, love is indeed, in my opinion, not a choice.

*          *          *

Yeah~ I know, I know. Kind of sappy for me, right?

Oh well :) Plenty more coming up! Be prepared :D

リトリチャ Ep 17

Alright, so here's another Literature post. Our lecturer asked us to write our own poems entitled "The Self-Unseeing", based on Thomas Hardy's The Self-Unseeing.

*          *          *

Question:
Write a poem entitled "The Self-Unseeing" based on Thomas Hardy's The Self-Unseeing. In the first stanza, the first and third lines have to start with "Here". In the second stanza, the first line must start with "She" whereas the third line must start with "He". Lastly, in the third stanza, the last line must begin with "Yet".

Answer:

Here stands the abysmal building
Full of life, full of people
Here minds and hearts are growing
Expanding what was once fickle

She holds a leash in her right hand
Strutting along, checking her nails
He follows behind, 'round every bend
Tongue hanging out, wagging his tail

I watch the clock tick
He's still nowhere near
I'm already homesick
Yet alone I'm left here

Comment: Poignant.

~#~

I shan't deny it, I didn't know what poignant meant until I searched it up on the Dictionary. Haha.  Apparently, it means "keen on the emotions". Still a bit doubtful about its usage in other contexts but yeah~ :P

Another Literature post coming up! :D

リトリチャ Ep 16

Hey! Here's an assignment for English Literature from the 25th of March. We only just received it recently so it's kind of late :)

*          *          *

Question:
Write a letter to Antoinette Cosway (in the event before her imminent death).

Answer:

Dear Antoinette,

It is difficult to judge how a person may act by his or her looks, character or social status. However, I pray that you may give my letter second thoughts before committing any rash actions.

Throughout the course of your story I have deduced that your life has given you more grief than joy. As a member of the audience, I have little right to advise you on what you should or should not do, however I do have a right to voice my thoughts: it is not your fault.

In fact, there is little that happened in your life that was your fault. The only major fault you had was agreeing to a matrimony with the money-grabbing old goat, Rochester, even after Christophine advised you against it. Then again, if he had not persuaded you and given you false hope, you would not be reading the contents of this letter.

Even in the case of your mother, Annette. You cannot choose your heritage. Nobody can. You did what you needed to, to survive, and did what you could to improve your lifestyle. Your only other mistake was trusting Tia, but in this age and time, everybody is in need of a friend.

Either way, that you could bear with the troubles and endured the pain your past inflicted, I am awed. Your perseverance is something to be admired and it is to be noted that I am always on your side. Suffice to say, no matter what you decide, it is for yourself and by yourself.

Because, Antoinette Cosway, you are free.

From,
Lou

There were no comments for this assignment, I'm afraid, but I didn't really like how this went. I normally write better for writing activities such as this -.-

Worry not, there are more coming your way! :D

Still In Love - Jason Chen + D

I feel the same way that you did about me yesterday
Promise to never leave me alone
The castles that we made were swept by tide and washed away
And now the sunsets have all gone

Now time is moving faster than before
And now we can't even seem to find the shore

'Cause baby I know that you still love me
And baby know that I love you too
So tell me why can't we make it better?
'Cause all I that know is found in you

I'm missing your love, I'm missing your face
All of our past, don't let it erase
I know that you still feel the way I do
Because I'm still in love with you

I wanted to move on, unlike you I'm not that strong
And now our day in the sun has set
We walked side by side leaving footprints in the sand
Now only my footsteps remain (when the tides roll in)

Now time is moving faster than before
And now we can't even seem to find the shore'

Cause baby I know that you still love me
And baby know that I love you too
So tell me why can't we make it better?
'Cause all I that know is found in you

I'm missing your love, I'm missing your face
All of our past, don't let it erase
I know that you still feel the way I do
Because I'm still in love with you

If I had just one more life
If I had just one more day
You would be my whole world
Be the only one I adore and

The next time I hold you close
I won't hesitate no more
'Cause baby this time
We're gonna fly high

And I will never (let you go)

'Cause baby I know that you still love me
And baby know that I love you too
So tell me why can't we make it better?
'Cause all I that know is found in you

I'm missing your love, I'm missing your face
All of our past, don't let it erase
I know that you still feel the way I do
Because I'm still in love with you'

Cause baby I know that you still love me
And baby know that I love you too
So tell me why can't we make it better?
'Cause all I that know is found in you

I'm missing your love, I'm missing your face
All of our past, don't let it erase
I know that you still feel the way I do
Because I'm still in love with you

Still in love with you

Honestly? I had this in my hard drive for approximately a few months now without any intention to watch this. Now that I have, I'm glad :D

I didn't have any expectations with this anime. I just thought the girl was cute and the story line seemed interesting enough to spark my interest.

That aside, this anime is about Kirishima Kaito, who's in the first-grade of high school. He loves taking videos with his camera (which looks めちゃくちゃ old-school), mostly of scenery and the environment, but that doesn't limit him to take videos of any aspect of important things in his life either. It was apparently to compensate for the lack of time he spent with his parents before they died.

Anyway, he was out one evening atop a dam, testing his new high-speed camera film, when he saw this blue light emitting from the sky. It unfortunately crash-landed and the impact blew him off beyond the railings (but not before he saw a hand reach out towards him), which was supposed to have killed him.

But it didn't.

Instead, he wakes up in his futon the next morning like it never happened. However, when he starts rolling the camera in school, he catches a girl with red hair through the lenses.

This girl, is Takatsuki Ichika. As you probably already naturally guessed, the crash-landing incident was caused by her and her spaceship.

Oh yes, yes, she's an alien.

The purpose for her arrival on Earth was actually to find this one place that she's seen only in her memories. The coordinates apparently matched those as on Earth so she travelled to Earth to find the place. In the event of her crash-landing, she unfortunately "killed" Kaito. To save him, she transferred her cells, which consist of nanomachines capable of curing Kaito, through a kiss, to heal him.

However, the transfer of cells came with side effects, such as the deteriorating of skin cells on his body, which looks like hickeys to the average person.

In order to make sure he doesn't suffer any side effects, Ichika ends up staying on Earth and close to him, which was helped by the fact that Kaito subconsciously invited Ichika to stay with him while his working sister went overseas for some work she needed to complete.

You'd think that was all to the story right? That it was about the two of them and the whole live-happily-ever-after cliche?

It's not O.O

Actually, it gets more interesting from here on out because one of Ichika's classmates, Yamano Lemon *pronounced Remon* (whose in third grade of high school) decides to make a movie. I'm guessing it's to make memories? :)

Anyways, as they work on the project, things get really complicated but it's also fun to watch. For one, it's quite tear-jerking. Although I didn't actually cry, the need to was present, especially towards the end.

Characters were very well-developed. I loved the twist concerning Mio's family. Shan't mention it in order to not spoil it for you, though :) The other characters were loveable too. I love Lemon's double-identity :P Tetsurou's sister's funny too.

Story was interesting too, to say the least. Well, it made me want to continue watching, so that's got to mean something, right?

Now, the ending, I must unfortunately criticise. Although there were implications that Ichika returned to Earth, it doesn't mean they shouldn't elaborate on the future lives of the characters??

Although, in its defence (and actual sense), the cliffhanger ending was more appropriate, since the epilogue-added movie was aired at their school carnival when they had already graduated.

All in all, I would definitely say that this is an anime worth watching. If you can find the DVD, why not? For me, though, I downloaded it in 720p :D I believe in watching anime in high definition, so...

Haha.

Also my personal opinion? Ichika reminds me of Onegai Teacher!'s Mizuho :)

Doesn't she?? Just yesterday, I couldn't even imagine Ichika without first imagining Mizuho. Must be the hair and style of drawing -.- The story line was kind of similar too, in the sense that both Mizuho and Ichika are older than their love interests, Kei and Kaito respectively.

I think Lemon had some form of similarity to Onegai Teacher!'s Morino Ichigo (who suffered a time lapse of 8 years, I think?).

Turns out both anime had the same character designer, Uon Taraku. Oh, and the seiyuu for both Ichigo and Lemon are the same person -.-

:D

I think this anime is available in any of the free online streaming websites such as AnimeSeason or WatchAnimeOn :D Either way, it didn't matter to me because I downloaded it.

If you wanna know how, I went to NyaaTorrents and searched for the anime. I downloaded it in 720p so you should be able to download it in that quality too :D

That's about it, then :) Watch out for episodical reviews of Suisei no Gargantia!! :P
