本当に??

Why do we have law?

I've never met a stupider person, I think. Annoying, as well. Sure, I guess the world's filled with these kind of people, but of all the places, why my college? Why my class?

Why?

Law is what governs our nation. Law is what keeps most crimes from being committed. Law is what keeps the people safe. Law is justice.

Law is what's keeping me from stabbing you in the chest during class when you ask stupid questions.

How can you even suggest that we not have law? I understand that maybe our nation is not doing a pretty good job keeping criminals off the streets but that does not give you liberty to even think about a world without law.

For instance, if law wasn't in existence, the rate of crime would increase drastically. I have no way to prove that, only the fact that I would kill you the minute murder wouldn't get me into trouble.

And how could you compare our country to first-world countries? We're a developing country. They've got a developed one. No matter how much you try to deny it, they are, in a few ways, more civilised than we are. Therefore, although they don't have much law to govern them, they do not have wrongdoers running rampant.

Well, too rampant.

Do you really think that's what would happen in our country? Where we are concerned?

I'm wondering what goes through your skull when we attend our Law lectures, really. Your questions drive not only me up the wall, but the people in our class. I know we mutually dislike our lecturer, but that doesn't mean I'd rather listen to you debate with him about whether our country should have laws.

*Pause*

I'm sorry, I still needed a while to digest the fact you actually asked why we had laws.

Till the next time you piss me off.

Damon & Elena – What You Mean To Me *Sterling Knight*

Woo~

This is another video I made after I came back from college today. Managed to finish it within 3 hours. Mwahaha. I know I'm technically not supposed to be wasting time, but what the hell. I did so much Law and Psychology yesterday. Gimme a break.

Plus, after listening to "What You Mean To Me" when I was watching StarStruck yesterday (while I was doing my homework :P), it kept gnawing at me to make another "Delena" video.

Hence, the video.

This took a little more effort than the previous one because it was hard finding the right video clips to sync with the music. I needed to find clips where Elena was pissed (that wasn't particularly hard, but anyway) and parts where Damon was remorseful (which was a challenge) :P

Well, I'm happy with this video too, of course. Curtesy of iMovie and the people who own the series, as well as the music. I don't own anything except the fact that I mashed everything up together.

I still am fully aware that the video quality sucks. Well, sue me.

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Today's million-dollar question: What is law?

*          *          *

Ola :)

I woke up at 9:08a.m today. That's a huge achievement, considering nobody had to wake me up and it was a holiday. I didn't need to get up at 5:43a.m in the morning to get to college on time -.-

Yes, since it was Thaipusam, my day was a very nice day :)

Once I freshened up and stuff like that, my mom asked me to walk Snuffly around the park. So I did. Wasn't so bad. Snuffly was sniffing everything everywhere -.- But the idiot bitch was out of her house and couldn't shut up when Snuffly and I passed through.

Snuffly barked at her too. I mentally went: Yeah! That's my Snuffly!! :P

When I came back, I used my laptop to continue designing the music video for Vampire Diaries~~ :P I couldn't help myself. I needed to make my dreams come true because Damon kept bugging me in my dreams.

MWAHAHAHAHA.

I feel like a lost cause. But argh, I don't care because I lerr him :D :D :D

Anyways, when 1 o'clock came, I went to bathe because we were going out for lunch. At 1:30p.m, my parents, aunt and I went to the place opposite our house to have lunch. Almost since forever, that place has been dubbed "the place opposite our house" because we have no friggin' idea what that place is called -.-

After our very filling lunch, my mom and I went to get some sundries before going back home. Once I did so, I used my laptop again. Posted my video on YouTube and on my blog then proceeded to using it to finish my college homework.

Such as my law homework -.- Yes, I left it only till today to finish it because I didn't like my Law lecturer. Leave me alone -.-

:P

Finished my Psychology homework too because we were having Psychology the next day and I needed to describe Milgram's experiment -.-

Lol~~~~~

Now what did I have for dinner? -.-

Oh right, I had porridge for dinner because my dad was way too lazy to bring us out for dinner. That, and my brother was still having exams, my mom was teaching and my aunt had already eaten -.-

It was literally just my dad and I -.-

When I came back, I continued my homework then slept at 11:30p.m with my playlist playing from my iPad :P I'm addicted to "What You Mean To Me" by Sterling Knight because I had watched StarStruck while doing my homework :P

Mwahaha.

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

Damon & Elena – Next To You *Jordin Sparks*

This is my first YouTube video. Mwakaka. Sorry, ever since I started Vampire Diaries, I've been obsessed with this pair :)

It was a rather impulsive move, watching this series. I feel like my sister, except she watched Gossip Girl -.-

Anyways, I heard my brother play this song in the car, and ever since, I've been playing it to the scenes from the series O.O I decided to make it come true :)

Was kinda difficult considering it's my first attempt at actually using iMovie for this purpose, so...

Hehe.

Watch and tell me what you think? :) Thanks.

リトリチャ Ep 5

^.^

*          *          *

Question:
What is your most hated opening line in a novel and why? What is the significance?

Answer:
"I scowl with frustration at myself in the mirror."

Unlike some people, in a novel, I prefer a positive or neutral opening line when I'm reading. That way, it does not make me feel angry and annoyed. It does little to help that it was written in the first-person point-of-view, which makes it all the more seem as if I really am frustrated with myself at that point of time.

The above sentence is the unfortunate opening line to E. L. James' novel, Fifty Shades of Grey. It had a catchy enough title to the 514-paged book, but reading it took a lot more will than reading any novel should have.

As I suspected, Fifty Shades of Grey told a very sadomasochistic story of a girl, Anastasia 'Ana' Steele, and her sadomasochistic desires to have a sadomasochistic relationship with a very rich, sadomasochistic man named Christian Grey.

That said, I believe writing a negative opening line says very little for a book, in my view, because the author/authoress is telling his/her audience that the book contains a story about a confused and self-deprecating main character. Therefore, if I had to name a book with my most hated opening line, it would be the one from E. L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey.

~#~

All true. My opinion only, by the way. Fans of that smut-filled book may stay fans, but I'm never going near any book of that chronology again.

リトリチャ Ep 4

Here's another one :)

*          *          *

Question:
Writing from Mr Rochester's point of view, compare and contrast Jane Eyre and Blanche Ingram's characters. Who is the better choice? Why?

Answer:
I still remember my first impression of Jane Eyre: troublesome. I remember her being the cause of the sprain of my ankle. Yet, as I waved for her to go, she finds a reason to stay and help. Her words ring in my head this very moment: "'I cannot think of leaving you, sir, at this late an hour, in this solitary lane, till I see you are fit to mount your horse.'"

Hah! As if I would have needed any help. Nonetheless, her sense of obligation left little room for argument. Yes, I believe I said necessity compels me to make her useful. And of course, I expressed my gratitude with a word of thanks. I am, after all, a gentleman.

Miss Eyre also proves to be of great help to my ward, however much she denies it. She believes she "has done nothing to entitle me to such an acknowledgement", to which I immediately refuted with "I have examined Adele, and find you have taken great pains with her: she is not bright, she has no talents; yet in a short time she has made much improvement." Yes, Miss Eyre falls back on over-modesty as much as one possibly can.

And what of her family? Why, with no parents, no siblings and no place to call home, one might expect a rogue child, yet through eight years in Lowood School, she has managed to become quite the accomplished lady. Although poorly, Miss Eyre is able to play the piano, sew and even sketch.

On the other hand, Blanche Ingram has had the great fortune of having everything served on a silver platter. Her siblings and her have had three governesses; all of which they scorned, and a mother whose personality is the epitome of a doting mother. Lady Ingram is ever so fond of dubbing her Blanche 'my dearest' and 'my best'.

I believe Blanche Ingram also looks down on Adele. She refers to Adele as a 'little doll' and asked where did I 'pick her up?', which, I must admit, I am not fond of because although Adele has little qualities as a lady, she is still my ward.

Unlike Miss Eyre, Miss Ingram had siblings and parents she could call family. She had Theodore, Mary Ingram and Lady and Lord Ingram. They have had much fun teasing their governesses, Miss Wilsons, Mrs Grey and Madame Joubert. Miss Eyre had nothing of the sort.

Quite frankly speaking, although Blanche Ingram would benefit me more in terms of social status and finance, she would bring me lesser joy and merriment than when compared to Jane Eyre. I must say I prefer someone who has tasted the bitterness of poverty and savoured the sweetness of an average life.

Therefore, my affections are for Jane Eyre alone.

Comment: Well-written. Comment also on JE's intellectual capabilities that matches Mr R.

I am fully aware that I did not provide any similarities although there are plenty differences. I will be sure to work on that :D Hehe.

Question:
What is your favourite opening line in a novel and why? What is the significance?

Answer:
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

The above sentence is the opening line of Jane Austen's work, Pride and Prejudice. It is also my favourite opening line in a novel. For one, it has a very big impact on the reader about what the story will be about. It is also amazing how the authoress has pinpointed such a truth about the way life is led to stimulate interest within her audience and spur them to read on.

An opening line delivers a very important message to the readers. It tells us what we are about to read. Therefore, it is absolutely crucial for the authoress to write an attractive opening line so readers do not instinctively close the book the second they read the opening line.

Pride and Prejudice is about the story of a girl whose mother believes is her (the mother's) responsibility to have each of her five daughters married into wealthy families. She soon sees her opportunity when she hears of a very wealthy gentleman by the name of Charles Bingley who comes to town with his friend, Darcy. While Mr Bingley is soon very well received by society, Mr Darcy, who seems proud and condescending by nature, is deemed disagreeable and rude.

Despite this, romance builds between the characters in the novel, such as between Mr Bingley and Jane Bennett and between Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. Pride and Prejudice is indeed excellent reading material, filled with satire and moral values very profoundly linked to marriage.

Therefore, it is to my belief that Jane Austen could not have written a better opening line to depict her story. And with that said, I have justified my reasons for liking this opening line the best in any novel.

~#~

I had a little help from my sister remembering the line, hehe :P And I know I did quite a shitty job with this question, I hope that with proper guidance, I'll be able to do a better job with other questions next time :D

Question:
Who does not play a gentleman? Describe a scene. Comment.

Answer:
Mr Brocklehurst has portrayed himself to be everything a gentleman is not. He told lies and gave impartial truths which caused a lot of misery towards Jane Eyre.

For example, in Chapter 7, after Jane Eyre's admittance into Lowood School, Mr Brocklehurst said, 'this girl is – a liar' without anything to support his statement. He carried out no investigation and took only Mrs Reed's words for it. He even said, 'if necessary, avoid her company, exclude from your sports, and shut her out from your converse'.

Therefore, Mr Brocklehurst is, indeed, very much not a gentleman.

リトリチャ Ep 1

Forgive me, for I am quite the egoist. Therefore, please allow me to post the following stuff :)

*          *          *

Question:
Mr Lloyd wrote a letter claiming Jane Eyre's innocence. Write that letter, providing instances and evidence from the text.

Answer:
Dear Miss Temple,

Several months ago, I paid a visit to Gateshead Hall to see Jane Eyre as she was feeling unwell. There, I heard her account of her experience while she lived with her aunt and cousins.

Without any parents, Jane Eyre has had the misfortune of growing up within an establishment devoid of love and regard. Miss Jane matured without proper filial affection in the household. Therefore, she may appear taciturn in many senses due to the lack of communication between her and any of the members in her supposed 'family'. A 'family', whose aunt demanded her solitary confinement in the room her uncle died in and whose cousins make it a daily habit to play a role in adding despair in her already unhappy life.

If Jane Eyre is to be guilty of anything, let it be for the child's innocence in speech, for her honesty proves almost sinful. For instance, she says that she would rather not live with other relations if they were poor because she would not be able to bear the thought of begging. It was also her decision to go to school and get an education. Although that may have been an excuse to get away from Gateshead Hall, it is still a fact that she sought to have an education.

In view of what has been mentioned above, if you have been duped into believing Jane Eyre is a liar liar who deserves as much attention and care as an alien, I assure you, you have been horribly deceived. Please note that everything I have disclosed thus far has been declared bona fide by a resident housemaid by the name of Bessie Lee. I hope i have cleared any doubts you previously had of Miss Jane. Should you require any more information regarding Jane Eyre, I would be glad to be of any assistance.

Thank you.

Dr Lloyd

いいアニメ

I think I get why I find myself not feeling like watching that much anime now. They're always based on video games.

VIDEO GAMES.

Many Japanese video games are also actually otome games and therefore usually involve one girl being the centre of attention of about 4-5 guys -.-

Like, for instance, Uta no Prince-sama, Starry Sky, Arcana Famiglia, Shiawase no Pan and others of the like. And the problem with these kind of anime is that the audience never knows if the main character will be with the guy you want or if she'll even be with any of the guys.

Ugh~

I mean, it's still obvious if it's a story like Hiiro no Kakera, because I know Tamaki will end up with Takuma.

On the other hand, Arcana Famiglia drove me absolutely crazy. I wanted Liberta to be with Felicita. But no, it had to be so unbelievably complicated by the end of the actual anime. She seemed to like both Nova and Liberta. But of my God, she ended up not choosing either of 'em. I mean, call me an idiot, but I don't believe in that "I choose both" thing or the "I can't choose between them" shit.

-.-

And if it's anime like Shiawase no Pan, what the hell? There's almost no romance between the characters at all. It's worse if you actually want the main character to be with somebody.

Bleghh~

Now why can't they make anime like Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha and RAVE anymore?

I wish someone with power actually sees this and makes a f*cking difference -.-

バカ王です

I didn't think I could dislike him more than I do now. We study in a private college; there are international students. There may be a greater majority of Malaysians in the college but that does not allow you to make assumptions about the people you have in class.

So why-the-friggin'-hell would you want to converse in Malay or Mandarin during class? On the first day of lectures itself, we made it per-fect-ly clear that there was an international student in our midst. Yet you insist on speaking to the fellow student in Mandarin. To add insult to injury, you follow up with a spice of BM.

Hello??

And as if that's not bad enough, he is technically assuming that all the Chinese in class can speak Mandarin, or, at the very least, understand the language. We made it as clear as the fact that there was an international student in our class, that there are 'bananas' in our class too. Some may get it, but other might not, okay? There may be students who do not understand a single shred of Mandarin at all, you douche!!

Plus, I thought that with slides, he would be able to explain and make us understand better, since he would know what he's about to tell us.

Damn did I misjudge (no pun intended).

During class today (on the 22nd of January 2013),  he could not understand why the slides weren't making sense. Turns out it was actually an activity that the original slide-designer 'devised' – remember I told you he doesn't design the slides himself? Yeah.

He actually started cursing the person that made the slides. Oh yes, he made it very clear that he thought the one who created the presentation was a retard. But do you know what this means?

He did not even bother to check the slides and proofread the freakin' presentation. He did not plan anything. He did not scan the presentation for errors or see if there was anything he could improve on.

He just took the whole effing presentation and decide to shove it in front of our faces and explain it impromptu.

The jackass has absolutely NO F*CKING RIGHT to curse or blame it on the designer because as a lecturer, it is his duty to ensure the students get the right information from a reliable source.

In this case, it's obviously not him.

Today he also made a reference towards marriages between people of the same sex. I, for one, am somewhat a supporter of these kind of marriages because I believe that one cannot choose who he/she loves. Now, if my Law lecturer were in love with a man, I bet he wouldn't be able to spout that shit today.

God, this is a long post. That's all I have for now, but it's enough for me to fuel my anger and detest him for the next couple of days.

I Knew You Were Trouble - Tyler Ward, Chester See, Lindsey Sterling + D *Taylor Swift*

I knew you were trouble when you walked in

Once upon a time a few mistakes ago
I was in your sights, you got me alone
You found me
You found me

I guess you didn't care, and I guess I liked that
And when I fell hard you took a step back
Without me, without me
Without me

And she's long gone when she's next to me
And I realize the blame is on me

'Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground

Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

No apologies, she'll never see you cry
Pretend she doesn't know that she's the reason why
You're drowning
You're drowning

I heard you moved on from whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be
And now I see, now I see
Now I see

She was long gone when she met me
And I realize the joke is on me

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground

Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

And the saddest fear comes creeping in
That you never loved me or anyone, or anything

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now

Yeah
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
Oh, ooh~
Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in

Today's million-dollar question: If marriages are sacred, why are divorces permissible?

*          *          *

Ola :)

I woke up real early today, curtesy of my mother, who came in at 9:10a.m to wake me up. And for what? To tell me that I'd be alone for the rest of the morning until my brother got home.

-.-

Now what did I do in the morning? Oh right, I started watching one of Jeff Dunham's comedy videos: Minding The Monsters. Hilarious, as usual. I watched the video while cooking eggs for breakfast. There wasn't anything else to eat at home, so...

:)

After eating my awesome scrambled eggs, I went into the music room and pretty much just watched videos the whole day O.O

First, I watched Minding The Monsters, then I watched The Sound of Music. After that, I watched another one of Jeff Dunham's videos: Spark of Insanity. Halfway through, my mom called to ask me to go out for lunch so I had to pause the video and walk out to Kam Hei.

Had my usual mixed economy rice with the bullseye egg and mixed-vegetables eggs.

When I came back home, I continued where I left off from Spark of Insanity. I also then watched Jeff Dunham's Birth of a Dummy. That's actually a documentary of how Jeff Dunham became a ventriloquist. Really cool :) Did you know Jeff Dunham actually made a helicopter from scratch? He loves flying and also makes his dummies from point zero.

Awesome, right?

Yeah~ After that, I waited for my parents to come home. My brother came back after being fetched home by my dad. He attended a concert the day before by Swedish House Mafia, that's why.

Anyways, when my mom finally came home from work – I remember having to get her bag -.- – the whole family – plus my grandpa, whom my dad got after getting my brother – went to Bone & Pot. Had an awesome dinner with all the steamboat dishes :D

At about 8 something, we sent my grandpa back home before going home ourselves. Was sleeping in the car so I was pretty much drunk by the time we got home. All I wanted to do was sleep. So, after getting Snuffles back in – yes, she ran out and insisted on not coming back in -.- – I went to bed and listened to a couple songs. Then I slept :)

That's about it, then. CIAO!!

大学

Today's million-dollar question: Who determines how long 'long' is?

*          *          *

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I have finally decided to update my dead blog, yes.

-.-

One of the main reasons I haven't been blogging is because I've been too lazy. That, and being a college student takes up a lot of my time.

I find myself coming back home and wanting to dive face-first into my fluffy-yet-not-so-fluffy bed and just shut my eyes for an indefinite time.

-.-

Yes, I am now a college student. In some ways I'm ecstatic and in other ways, I'm absolutely regretting starting college early. Maybe I should have waited~~~

No, I shouldn't. Know why? By then, my moral studies subject would be in BM once again and my Law course would take up two years.

I can do without the extra 6 months with the same lecturer. He'd kill me.

Ahh~ You've guessed it right, I absolutely detest my Law lecturer. He is the epitome of prejudice, and the definition of a 'pious bastard'. I swear, if you look the word up in the Dictionary, you'd see his face plastered there, holding a Bible and a cross.

The first few days were the most unbearable. He said that he didn't need to refer to the textbook and started rambling on and on and on about things he wasn't even sure about.

And while all that was going on, my friends and I were exchanging glances, silently swearing and placing our palms against our respective foreheads.

Then he started using presentations – that he did not even design, mind you – and then lessons got a little better because he finally knew what he was talking about. And even then he sometimes make wrong references and apologises at an average of 7 times per lesson.

Aiseh~

I do generally like the subject, though. It's informative and if you ignore the lecturer's incompetence during classes and really absorb the data, one'll find that the English Legal System is indeed, interesting.

My other subjects are fine, though. I'm taking Psychology, English Literature and Business Studies.

Have you ever had a subject which you dread but once classes start, you find yourself absorbed in whatever the lecturer's saying?

That's Business Studies for me. My lecturer is quite a teensy bit boring, but the information I get from the lesson makes it worth it. I love being able to apply it to real life situations – especially when I get to ask my dad about why he makes certain decisions in his business.

A lot of writing is needed for Business Studies; our lecturer believes in making and taking down notes through presentations during class. I, to save time, have a habit of using rough paper to quickly jot down the notes so I don't waste time and get to listen to the lecturer.

Not that that makes any difference, because the rest of my classmates write so damn slowly. Either way, it will hardly affect me because I'll be listening to the lecturer whilst the rest concentrate more on how to spell 'diseconomies' without screwing it up.

-.-

I expected more from English Literature. I guess it's partly because of the lecturer. I'm not saying she's a bad lecturer, I'm just saying I probably prefer a different one. Is it her personality? Her character? I don't know, really. I just don't find myself looking forward to it as much as Psychology.

Not to mention we're doing Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. She's even thinking of letting us watch the BBC version of Jane Eyre. I don't want to watch it, though. Mainly because I have already seen it and I'm friggin' scared of it.

The poems are based on the theme of 'Home'. Not too bad, but I dislike a few of the poems because they make little or no sense. It's part of the fun, I know, but there's a limit to how many definitions a series of words can have, right?

One thing I like about English Literature is the assignments, though. I love writing. I do. There's nothing I love more in the world than sitting down and writing about something I love. I find myself wanting to keep writing and writing and writing whenever I'm given any questions that involve essay writing. I don't even mind when I get a bad mark because that means I always have room for improvement.

:) I'm weird like that.

Psychology is probably the best? My lecturer is a bit 4D though. He insists on either be called 'Sir' or just Mr Loo. Not even 'teacher' or his name. I mean, I get why his actual name is off-limits, but 'teacher'?

-.-

Bleghh~

I call him by his surname, either way.

I love Psychology. I love what I learn through it, even the experiments and different kinds of Psychology. I learnt about Prejudice and Discrimination recently and I find it really amazing how Psychology can explain so many things about how people behave in a particular situation and in a particular society.

Love it, love it, love it :)

My lecturer is also the kind of lecturer who inserts indifferent sarcasm in his lectures, so we can laugh in class and lighten up the atmosphere during lessons :)

Just had a test today. Wasn't too bad, but it's bloody pressuring having my lecturer looming over my paper and commenting: "Incomplete".

O.O

Holy shit.

So yeah, that's a short overview of my college life so far. I've only had two weeks of it and I look forward to more lessons, though the only reason I hate it is because my Mondays through Wednesdays consist of my needing to wake up at 6 in the morning to get to school for lessons at 8am.

-.-

I'll try to be more consistent in my blogging routine :) But for now, that's all.

CIAO!!
