Today's million-dollar question: What is a memorable day?

Ola :)

I was very, very spoilt today. For one, I was allowed to go for my librarian farewell. Well, it ain't exactly MY farewell, but you know what I mean. I really seemed to be causing a lot of trouble for my parents, so...

Yeah~

Anyways, after some thought, I figured maybe I could ask Dellie's parents if I could "tumpang" their car to Marco Polo. Thank heavens for my parents, her parents said yes. My mom dropped me off at Dellie's apartment and we left to Marco Polo.

Upon arrival, we practiced my song as we did on Friday. Made small talk with the other librarians and juniors who already arrived. Particularly pitied Judy because she came at nine, thinking our President was serious when she was actually joking.

When the seniors arrived, we got down to business. Started off with speeches from Miss Nina, the Ex-President and then our President. After that, we had lunch.

Ho-ly shit. What a damn spread. There was fried this, fried that, fried rice, fried noodles, spring rolls, bean curd, fruits, salad, even SUSHI!! Naturally, I "sapu"-ed that :P

Awesome. But I didn't bring my water down from the car, so I had to survive on tea. Went to toilet numerous times, most of the time accompanied by Dellie and Miss Jelly (inside joke) :P

Performed after some video presentations. Didn't go exactly as how I planned it, but it sufficed. They liked it (at least, I hope to think they did), and they thought it was pretty impressive for me to think it up within half an hour on the Friday before that.

Not one of my best, though. The chorus deserved praise, nonetheless :P Haha.

After the performances. They had games. Halfway through, though, everyone started hearing people arguing outside loudly. Turns out it was an argument between the chef and one of the waiters. Don't know why, though. Wanted to record it, but the teachers said it was too dangerous to come out.

Soon, it was already 2:30p.m and Danya had to go. Stupid girl, she didn't get to eat my cake. Who the hell did she think I made that for anyway? -_- If she doesn't eat it when school reopens, I'm gonna kill her.

Haha.

It was time for Dellie and I to leave soon too. Her parents actually called and they let me tag along with them after the farewell to other shopping malls. It was incredibly generous of them to allow such a thing. I was so happy.

We set course for Fahrenheit after they picked us up. It's actually the mall opposite Pavilio, but I don't think I've ever been there.

Walked around a little then went over to Pavilion for Starbucks. Wanted to pay for my drink, but they insisted they wanted to pay.

That's Generous Gesture Number 3. (The first was allowing me to carpool. The second was allowing me to carpool back.)

After that, we went for a movie (I got my dad's permission first, of course). And that's Generous Gesture Number 4. Generous Gesture Number 5 was when they paid for my ticket as well. By the time I unzipped my bag, the credit card was already out and swiped.

Guess what show I watched with Dellie? Three Musketeers.

Oh my God. I don't care what other people say, it was awesome for me. I loved the show, especially since Logan Lerman was downright gorgeous. I didn't even think he was Percy Jackson till I came back home and went CSI :P Not to mention, my favourite Fitzwilliam Darcy was Athos in the movie too.

Porthos and Aramis were hilarious too. I loved the humour and the plot. Everything, really. Maybe except for some unrealistic parts like when the Milady dodged the booby traps.

After the movie, we met up with Dellie's parents and they sent me back. Behold, Generous Gesture Number 7. (Number 6 was when they brought me to Ying Ker Lou for dinner. I shared a dish with Dellie.)

Now I'm back home and in the room. I have to post this as the 23rd, though, cause technically it's the 24th.

Dantalian no Shoka

Phantom Books are books that contain forbidden knowledge. I'm sorry, but I can't seem to remember how Phantom Books are born, so you'll have to watch it to see for yourself :P Since these books are fairly dangerous, they are preferably kept in the Mystic Archives of Dantalian (also known as Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian), housing 900,666 books.

The Mystic Archive is an actual space in another dimension where a girl keeps track of all the Phantom Books. She's got flowing long light-purplish hair and can't escape from the archives. Her "other self", though, takes form in a young girl with black hair with a purple tint. She is called Dalian, and she's the Black Biblioprincess (Jap: 黒読姫), the custodian of the Mystic Archives.

Since the Mystic Archives are, well, the Mystic Archives, Dalian considers herself a very important figure and much more knowledgeable than others. She sometimes replies with the English "Yes" rather than in Japanese when answering questions and has a big lock on her chest.

Naturally, every lock has a key, right? This is where Hugh Anthony Disward comes in. Commonly called Huey, he is the owner of the particular key which unlock Dalian's lock, allowing him entrance into the Mystic Archives to retrieve Phantom Books. His key was actually left behind for him by his grandfather, Wesley Disward, who was the previous Keykeeper of the Mystic Archives.

Now you're probably wondering why there is a need for any books to be retrieved if they're dangerous, right? Well, every second of every minute of every hour of every day, new Phantom Books are born, and aren't yet kept in the Mystic Archives. Due to this, ordinary people get their hands on it and every time someone gets involved with these books, they're likely to be either consumed in its knowledge or just use it for criminal activity.

Other Phantom Books can undo the spells contained by other Phantom Books, so :)

So this is pretty much how the anime goes :) Really interesting, but my personal opinion is that I hate Dalian's other self in the Mystic Archives. She pisses me off. If Huey falls for her, I hate this anime. Begs if there's a second season, he finds that he's got feelings for Dalian.

Doesn't that idiot know she likes him too?! Bleghh~

Absolutely cool :P Lupin is just plain cute. So good-boy and such a cutie :P

I thought Severus was a girl at first, but he's actually quite cute when you look at him properly. Regulus looks cool too. And I don't really wanna say so, but Lucius also looks handsome. Bleghh~ They sure can make even the worst people look incredibly cool.

Butcher's Shop - BEDLAM

It was many years ago since the embarrassing day when a young woman, with a baby... in her arms, entered his butcher shop and confronted him with the news that the baby was his and asked what was he going to do about it?

Finally he offered to provide her with free meat until the boy was 16. She agreed. He had been counting the years off on his calendar, and one day the teenager, who had been collecting the meat each week, came into the shop and said, "I'll be 16 tomorrow."

"I know," said the butcher with a smile, "I've been counting too, tell your mother, when you take this parcel of meat home, that it is the last free meat she'll get, and watch the expression on her face."

When the boy arrived home he told his mother. The woman nodded and said, "Son, go back to the butcher and tell him I have also had free bread, free milk, and free groceries for the last 16 years and watch the expression on his face!"

Euro-English - BEDLAM

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publikenthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f".. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

Hiatus

Alright, this'll be a quickie because I need to sleep and this is giving me a headache again.

I'll be going on a hiatus because I recently had my jerks. They were growing more and more violent so I've decided not to use my iPad anymore for the time being. I won't be able to use the computer either, of course, so I might as well give everybody a heads up before they come here and see the same friggin' post for a few weeks.

Yes, you got that right. A few weeks. At least until exams are over, anyways.

Ola :)

Today was such a dramatic day. I woke up to my mom's yelling, saying, "The two of you (my brother and I) are too much! How late does it have to be before you get up??!"

And it was only nine thirty -_-

Anyways, I went downstairs to use the computer and was ecstatic to find that BOTH the torrent downloaders I used (utorrent and bittorent) finished downloading the Kodocha episodes :)

Oh, and if my sister reads this, did you manage to download the episodes? Try removing it from the torrent downloader then transfer it again :) Don't give up, please?

Had my shake as usual today too, but this time it was pear and tropical fruit. Bleghh, disgusting.

Oh well.

My mom then asked if I wanted to follow her up to our grandparents' place. I was supposed to have English tuition with my teacher as a replacement for her absence next week but I figured, I wanted to see my grandma (and "kau fu" and "E E") so... :)

Haha.

My grandma was feeling quite good at that point of time. We all had lunch (there was some drama there, and my mom and aunt were at loggerheads but they managed to sort it out) and we attended to my grandma again.

Then the real drama started. E E Wai's baby started to cry and make a hell lot of noise, which discomforted my grandma and she said, "Can you please stop that noise? I cannot stand it." (Or somewhere among those lines.)

E E Wai, naturally, took it kind of harshly, so she quickly went upstairs. Found out she was crying later. Then my aunt and mom comforted her, saying that my grandma didn't mean they were annoying, it's just that when she hears a lot of noise, she gets very frustrated. I mean, everyone else is like that too, right? When you're in pain, noise just magnifies it, so...

Yeah...

But the drama didn't end there. AFTER the rest of my family came up, she began to throw tantrums. I don't know how it started because I was upstairs reading manga :( When I came downstairs, I find that my grandma threw three pillows around, pushed my mom away and whacked my aunt's hand off hers.

Yeah...

My aunt broke down today. She really couldn't stand it anymore. She cried and cried, saying that she couldn't understand why my grandma had to be so violent and that my grandma didn't understand that my grandma was not the only one suffering.

Which was true, of course. My aunt literally does everything around the house, from finding out the best things to provide her and plans everything daily. She keeps track of every little thing involving my grandma and honestly, that's the only reason my grandma is still around today.

My aunt really has nerves of steel, and I commend her for that.

But still, she has to be a lot stronger than she is now to be able to handle my grandma, 'cause she ain't to be trifled with either.

I'll give details to my sister some other time. I've got little to spare because my aunt and brother are being utter jackasses.

Had dinner after that, stayed around a little longer, then went back home.

Well then, I shall be off now. CIAO!!

Remembrance

It is on this sad day that Apple lost a visionary. He was the person who changed the way technology is viewed today. With each product, the people of the world found various new ways to contact their loved ones, share memories and just have plain fun. The Macintosh, the Mac Book, the Mac Book Air, the iPod, the iPod Touch, the iPhone and the iPad are now widely used in more than 80 countries (rough estimate).

But it does not stop just there. Each time a product is released, at least one new software is also introduced to the world. The iOS-es, for example. New concepts are demonstrated and they somehow manage to make it more user-friendly with each new release. The devices itself are marvels to behold with Dual Core Processors, Gyroscope, awesome camera functions, awesome battery life and the list goes on.

Now iCloud and the iOS 5 are about to see the light. Once again, it was he that made this all possible, with the help of his trustable and reliable subordinates-cum-friends (I'm pretty sure).

That, is Steve Jobs, the man who, on this day - the 6th of October, passed away at only 56 years old.

From here on out, everything I type will be my personal opinion, so don't judge me! (Inside joke :P) Honestly, I cannot believe Steve Jobs is now gone. I've watched every single Apple Special Event in which he appeared in (which technically means I've watched literally every single Apple Special Event) and I've always been amazed at how Apple can come up with such complex-yet-user-friendly stuff that is on the market today.

Almost all my direct family members own at least one Apple product. We have the Snow Leopard, I'm in possession of an iPad, my sister and uncle use an iPhone 4, my parents each find incredible use in their iPhone 3Gs, my sister has a Mac Book, and my aunt and uncle (my mom's sister and her husband) jointly use an iPad 2. I think the only people in my direct family who have not the fortune of owning personal Apple devices are my brother and my aunt (my dad's sister).

This does not mean our family is rich enough to afford all these things (though I know of one family who literally owns each kind of Apple product :P) but it goes to show that we trust in its functions and abilities to make working, learning and playing so much easier. And I'm very sure Apple users around the world can vouch for me.

Quoting Apple, it just works.

That's the magic behind the scenes. Other phone and laptop companies have tried - pretty much in vain - to imitate these fantastic machines but they can only barely scratch the floor at which Apple stands. The BlackBerry, the Samsung Galaxy Tabs, they all try their hardest to emulate Apple but that's just it. All they can do is try their best, 'cause only Apple can stand above the rest.

That the man standing behind Apple as we watch the world of technology unfold before our very eyes is now dead, I'm certain everyone is left dumbfounded. I actually didn't know of this until my mom told me after I wished her Happy Birthday.

Ironic, isn't it? The celebration of birth of a beloved came in conjunction with the mournful death of a prodigy. In fact, it's been the other way around for me too, because the celebration of birth of a prodigy came in conjunction with the mournful death of a beloved (my grandpa, on the 24th of February - which is the day Steve Jobs was born).

Tim Cook, you'd better keep Apple and Jobs' reputation soaring above the clouds, because they have done the world the greatest good any other machine can possibly jointly offer.

With this tragedy, we mustn't dwell. We shouldn't be sad he passed, but be thankful he was born.

Goodbye, Steve Jobs, and may you silently watch over the growth of your company while you rest in peace.

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging. I was either too busy blogging about insufferable people in school or just being plain sloth-y.

Anyways, today I woke up at 8 something, close to 9. Finished reading Gakuen Alice whilst having my shake, then had lunch downstairs. My lunch consisted of "nasi lemak", which I reluctantly shared with my mom (I'm kidding -_-) and a bite of her "char siew sou".

Yeah~

Not long after, my mom and the maid left to my grandparents' place. I quickly bathed, charged my iPad then played some pieces on the piano, which I make a habit of doing every day now.

My teacher came at 1:40p.m, and my brother and I had our English tuition. Class was funny and fun again today, as usual. The teacher makes endless recounts of what happens in her daily life to us.

Honestly, you get a lot of writing-essay ideas from her stories. They just spring out at you like a snake spitting poison and to prevent myself from forgetting any of those ideas, I lightly and briefly penciled them out on my book as she's telling me her stories.

Haha.

At four o'clock, she left and I chilled for a while before changing out of my pants because apparently, after visiting my grandma, we were going out to eat at God-knows-where. I'm hoping it's a shopping mall. Leisure Mall would be nice - I could get my books there - or KLCC - I can go to Kinokuniya!! :P

Right~

Remember I mentioned the whole "her daily life makes good material for writing essays" thing? I was getting started on one till my dad came and it was time to leave -_- Bleghh~

So now I'm currently in my grandparents' place. My grandma is being as unresponsive as ever, but she manages a "good night", "hello sayang" and "goodbye" every now and then, which makes my heart overflow with undying love for her.

By God's strike, let her be healed.

I'll be going for dinner soon. I just finished the NST-NIE Creative Writing Workshop report for the library that was actually due last week. The teacher gave me until tomorrow, so... :P

Mwahaha.
