Amatsuki

Okay, this is another anime review of an anime I recently bought from Rock Corner the other day in Gardens. It's called Amatsuki and consists of 13 episodes. I got it for RM12.90 so it's quite of a decent bargain since it's less than one ringgit for one episode :)

Haha, I'm cheap, I know.

Anyways, this anime is mainly about this ordinary high school boy called Rikugou Tokidoki. Apparently his image does little in justifying his name but I've yet to figure out why because I don't know what his name means -_-

The story really begins when Tokidoki failed one of his history tests and as makeup work, was sent to a high-tech history museum that virtually creates Japan during the Edo period. It's exactly as how virtual reality works now - with the goggles and the nice scenery through them -_-

Yeah~

On his little journey around the museum, though, he meets his senior Shinonome Kon, whom he gets to give him a tour around, explaining how the museum works and everything. However, along the way, not only does he eventually lose Kon and realize he is no longer wearing the VR goggles *which means everything that's happening to him is real* but he also gets attacked by a nue and yakou. I would explain in detail about what they really are, but it's unclear even in the anime, so :)

All I can tell you is that the nue doesn't really die. According to characters in the anime, the nue can get injured but it never really dies. It just recovers and continues doing whatever it does -_- Oh, and they're also rare.

They do, however, give watchers a little insight on what the yakou can do, but I shall not disclose them here :)

Anyways, after he gets slightly injured in the eye by the nue, he gets rescued by Kuchiha, a swordswoman. Tokidoki faints, only to wake up in a different surrounding after being cared for by some woman -_-

Complications arise in the anime and Tokidoki soon realizes that he's something they, in the virtual Edo, call the Blank Page. The Blank Page is someone who's future is not foretold in Heaven's Net - a kind of system of the Gods in the virtual Edo *that they call Amatsuki* He acquires some really amazing abilities and of course, becomes targeted because of it.

Nonetheless, the anime does have weak spots. For one, it never really ended. According to Wikipedia *which is actually not a very reliable source* they stopped producing the anime because one of their staff got involved in a drug scandal.
