Inuyasha

I seriously rate this anime 5/5. This is one of the best long animes I've ever watched in my entire life, among Rave and Samurai X. This is the longest I've watched that I've liked, of course.

This is an anime mainly about different kinds of youkai (demons) who are after the Shikon No Tama. The Shikon No Tama is actually a pink-ish pearl-looking ball consisting of four different kinds of elements. And I don't mean elements as in water, air, fire and earth. I mean elements as in Wisdom, Frienship, Strength and Love. All these four stuff add up to the Shikon No Tama. 

This Shikon No Tama, if fallen into the hands of evil people, would mean disaster. To prevent this, a miko (priestess) is required to protect the Tama. In the Sengoku Jidai (the warring era), it was a miko named Kikyo who protected this Tama with all her power. However, when she thought she had been tricked by Inuyasha (the boy with dog ears in the pic :P) she died of a fatal injury after sealing him onto the Goshinboku (The Tree Of Ages). 

The Tama, on the other hand, was burnt together with Kikyo's remains, as she requested.

50 years passed and where the Goshinboku was, was a shrine. Living in the Shrine house was the Higurashi family. Having a grandfather who loved history (and sometimes craps about it), naturally, he would have knowledge about the Shikon No Tama. However, what he doesn't know is, the Tama was buried inside his granddaughter, Higurashi Kagome's, body. You see, Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo, the miko. 

In a room in the shrine was a well and on Kagome's 15th birthday, she went inside in search of her pet cat, Buyo, for her brother, Souta. Out of nowhere, she was dragged in by a mononoke (vengeful spirit) which brought her to the Sengoku Jidai. 

After managing to part with the mononoke by force, she found Inuyasha, sealed as he was 50 years ago on the Goshinboku tree. Looking at his dog ears, she played with them before she was caught by some village people. An old miko, Kaede, inspected her and realized her to be Kikyo's reincarnation. Best part is, Kaede is Kikyo's younger sister, so she should know best, no? :)

But later that night, the mononoke came back in search of the Shikon No Tama. Frantic, Kagome ran towards the Goshinboku tree where Inuyasha was sealed. By that time, he already woke up and ordered Kagome to take out the arrow which sealed his powers and movement. Refusing to be killed then and there, Kagome removed it and Inuyasha defeated the mononoke. Unfortunately, Inuyasha was one of those who wanted the Tama for himself to increase his powers. 

You see, Inuyasha is a hanyou (half-demon) and in order to become a youkai, he has to rely on the powers of the Tama. 

Things got out of hand when the Tama got stolen by a large youkai bird and when Kagome tried to shoot it with an arrow, it hit the Tama and it broke into a million pieces, scattering itself all over the world. Kaede concluded that the both of them had to join hands and retrieve all of it together.

However, things soon unravel many mysteries around both Inuyasha, Kagome and the later ressurected Kikyo. Along their journey to seek out Naraku, who plays a large role in this anime, he and Kagome gain lots of comrades and Inuyasha learns to place his trust in others as he never had before.

Now, for the moment we've all been waiting for~ :P

I seriously recommend this to people who have loads of time and love anime. This has the mixture of action, drama, comedy and romance as well, so if you need an anime to watch, this is the anime for you. ^ ^ Ciao!
