Today's million-dollar question: What's a shingle?

Ola :)

Woke up at 10:42a.m today, if my memory's still fresh enough to rely on -.- Obviously, I didn't get breakfast. I also didn't go downstairs till I finished coloring Ayla from Immortal Rain. I love that manga. It's unbelievably cute. I love guys who are close to invincible like Kenshin :P Haha.

That aside, after uploading that photo onto Facebook, I went downstairs and continued reading V.B.Rose from where I left off the day before. That's another manga I love a lot. Before lunch, Mom and I went out to two organic shops where she bought some bread, rice and veggie. We then ate lunch at home.

After lunch, at around two o'clock, my brother and I went to have our hair cut at the shop next to the office. Why? 'Cause our usual place was renovating and was not going to be done till April. Decided I couldn't wait that long. The haircut wasn't too bad, I guess. Super layered. Fringe damned short too.

Bleghh~

Time spent after that was mostly just on reading V.B.Rose. Oh my God, I'm going to die waiting for Hidaka Banri to finish the manga because it stopped at SUCH an exciting part!! AHHHH!!! I love Yukari, Ageha, and Mitsuya. They're so cute I think I could've gotten a heart attack.

When I finished the manga, however, I wanted to find another manga to read but three wasn't any that caught my eye. For dinner, I had rice, fish and two kinds of vegetables. Then, I went upstairs to watch a little TV with my aunt. It was a Cantonese show called "Only You" about this family and a loony girl.

Got bored quite soon, so I went into our bedroom and watched Castle whilst drafting my blog post on a piece of rough paper. Mom came into the room then, though, 'cause she wanted me to do some Sudoku with my gramps.

Yeah~

Ooh, I missed an important part of my day. I decided to go to Singapore with my parents. Yeah~ No need to wrack my brain thinking about transportation and everything. Uh huh~

After the Sudoku thingymajing, I went back into my room to resume watching the 14th episode of the fourth season of Castle. Then, I watched Michael McIntyre's Live and Laughing episode.

Just finished watching :) Am transferring everything on the bit of paper into my blog now. Mwahaha. That's about it, then. It's already 11:09p.m, after all. Plus, my mom's thinking of mentally killing me for tomorrow. Apparently we're to follow my parents to Bukit Jalil to "exercise". Hell I'm gonna do that. I'll just bring something to read or whatever.

Whoopdie-doo, another manga review! I'm currently on a roll, you can say. After this, I'll be updating Immortal Rain too because I just re-read it :P

Alright, so Klan is technically a differently spelt version of Clan. It still works the same way. The only twist is that these clans are based on... animals.

Yeah~

There are four major clans, to be exact. The Tiger Clan, Bear Clan, Wolf Clan and the most "terror" one of all, the Lion Clan. There's also a group of people who "hunt" these people, so naturally, they're called Hunters.

You might be confused about how animals have anything to do with these clans, so let me just clear something up with you.

They can transform into these animals. 

Yeah, it's some kind of "Sheena" movie in manga form -.-

Anyways, everything kind of turned around when the supreme commander of the Lion Clan, Count Linford, decided to subjugate all the four clans where he can rule as the most powerful one of 'em all. This is where Tora comes in.

Tora is a normal high school student but with deceased parents. Before dying, however, he met up with his son and told him out of nowhere that he now has to look after his sister!

Obviously, Tora was shocked beyond words. Then, leaving him some "important" documents, his dad left and sometime later, died. I'm not sure if it was murder or some natural death, but I just know he died.

That aside, Tora belongs to the Tiger Clan, and, since it's a dying clan - which means there aren't many of his kind left - naturally, he'd be categorized under "real catch". Doesn't help that Count Linford intends to have Tora's "species" in his clan under a brand new breed, the Liger.

I'm sure you've heard of the term? Breeding tigers with lions? Yeah, but I'm also sure that you've figured Count Linford is a guy, right?

The last time scientists checked, guys can't reproduce.

This is where Tora's sister comes in. 

Naturally, since Tora's from the Tiger Clan, his sister would be the same, right? Common sense, peeps. 

So Count Linford's idea is to marry his kid sister and produce a Liger heir. Pretty sick, right? Tora didn't want that for his newly-found sister, of course, so he was very determined in getting her back when some dudes working for the Count kidnapped her.

And the story moves along that line. It's actually not bad, really. I mean, story's pretty decent, drawings are nice and it's short, so not much time is taken up.

Of course, it's also not really done yet. I mean, the manga is complete but the story isn't. And I can't say I know when the sequel's coming out.

Yeah, so... :) This manga has 15 chapters and illustrated/written by Shouko Fukaki.

Chocolate Chip Sponge Cake

Since my sister keeps saying that she can't receive my email, I'll just post it here where I know she'll be able to see it -.- Bleghh~

Chocolate Chip Sponge Cake
Serves 9
Cooking time - 40-45 minutes

Ingredients

225g/8oz self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
225g/8oz butter, softened, plus extra for greasing
225g/8oz caster sugar
55g/2oz ground almonds
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
140g/5oz milk chocolate chips
55g/2oz milk or plain chocolate, melted, to decorate
55g/2oz white chocolate, melted, to decorate

This sponge cake is made by the quick all-in-one method. This is where all the ingredients are beaten together until smooth and creamy.

1. Preheat the oven to 180'C/350F/Gas Mark 4. Grease and line a 23cm/9inch square shallow cake tin.

2. Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Add the butter, sugar, ground almonds, eggs and vanilla extract. Using an electric handheld whisk, beat until the mixture is very smooth and creamy. Fold in half the chocolate chips.

3. Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and gently smooth the surface. Scatter over the rest of the chocolate chips. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until well risen, golden and springy to the touch.

4. Leave the cake to cool in the tin for five minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

5. To decorate, spoon the melted chocolates into two separate paper piping bags. Snip off the ends and drizzle the chocolates in squiggly lines over the cake. Leave to set. Cut into squares and serve.

Top tip: Freeze individual squares in foil – they are perfect for packed lunch or picnics.

Today's million-dollar question: Why hallelujah?

Ola :)

I had to wake up early today. Hurts to do so -.- I mean, that's no way to start a holiday, right? Doesn't help that I have school tomorrow either -.-

I woke up for a different reason today, though. It's because my school was hosting the ABRSM theory exam. Trust my aunt to make things easy for me to take my exam -.-

Bleghh~

Yeah, so I woke up early, ate half boiled eggs for breakfast then waited for Sean before we all went together to my school. Luh was there already - the only other girl in our class - reading her textbook. We went upstairs to the first floor where our exam rooms were before my dad left us to settle some other students.

It was definitely funny to see all my classmates in the Serbaguna Room as well as all my teachers. I think I saw Jansen -.-

Haha.

The exam... Hmm... I could've killed myself during the instruments part, but other than that, I'm hoping I did as well as I'd hoped I did. Heck, I just wanna friggin' pass. I don't have to get as high as a merit or a distinction, I just wanna pass.

Just 67%. That's all I'm askin' for.

Anyway, after the 3-hour exam, my dad dropped Sean off at the BP station near our school then we headed off to Old Town where we had lunch.

I had the char siew fan dish again whilst my dad had hor fun. I got my Orange Fizzy drink again whilst my dad had Old Town White Milk Tea.

After lunch, we went home and I used the computer first because my dad was going to use the toilet first. Two hours after, he finished and I went to bathe. I think I pretty much spent most of my time just using my iPad, reading manga and drawing stuff on this new app I downloaded called Sketchbook.

If I ever get hardworking enough, I'll start reviewing the apps I download too. Not like there'll be much, but anything to increase traffic, right?

I think I just like people to read my blog :)

Didn't have rice for dinner. Had waffles. Yeah. Not bad, I guess. I really don't want to go to school tomorrow, though. I don't know why. It just doesn't seem like a holiday if I go. Especially since my Theory exam is over.

Gimme a life?

That's about it for now, I guess. I just downloaded the next four torrent episodes for Castle. It's downloading the 14th episode now, called The Blue Butterfly. No idea what it's about, since my sister is adamant about leaving me in suspense, but yeah -.-

I like to wait until I can watch everything one shot. I don't like to watch one episode by one episode 'cause that just pisses me off.

I'm beginning to wonder when I can start watching the new Zero no Tsukaima series and finish watching Guilty Crown, Inu X Boku SS, and Shakugan no Shana III too -.-

Bleghh~ So many things to watch, so little time.

Houou Gakuen Misoragumi

Ola :) So this manga is called Houou Gakuen Misoragumi. I finished this within a day, don't worry. Didn't take up much time either, since there are only 22 chapters.

Yeah~

Well, cutting straight to the chase, this manga is a mixture of romance and gender bender. Lemme explain what that means: cross-dressing.

That's technically summing up the whole explanation, really :)

There are a few manga I like that have this as one of their themes. One of my favourites is Charming Junkie. So the bloody cute :P I also like Penguin Revolution. I've reviewed that before. You can read it here. Others include Tokyo Crazy Paradise, AAA, Hana Kimi et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Tokyo Crazy Paradise. I love it so much and I could've sworn I remembered reviewing it -.-

That aside, Houou Gakuen Misoragumi is a story of a homo. Yeah, it's that kind of story, but not in a bad way, otherwise I wouldn't have continued. The main character of this manga is Saeba Kei and she has an affinity for girls.

Yes, that's why "homo".

You see the person with the short blue hair in the pictures? Yeap, that's her. 

E-xact-ly.

Her mother, obviously worried, decided to forcefully enroll her into an all-boys' school, a trick which Kei realized too late. And that was the start of her torturous high school life.

However, as if it's not bad enough that she barfs whenever she comes in contact with guys - which is why she was donned the title "barfing prince" - she also finds out that she's in the school because of a very sadistic teenager called Yajin Yui. 

Thus her suffering begins.

The twist in the story is quite interesting. Can't beat the famous ones but it's bearable :) Plus, it's kinda emotional, unlike in Hana Kimi or Tokyo Crazy Paradise. I actually felt like crying at one point but sucked 'em all back in :P

Either way, this is a manga you might want to consider if you're bored or need something interesting to read. It's written and illustrated by Arata Aki.
